G.S.V.M. Medical College, Kanpur, known for its academic excellence world over , is named after Late Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, a great freedom fighter ,who lost his life at the altar of the communal frenzy in Kanpur in March 1931. This was the first medical college of U.P. established in independent India, forming a landmark in the annals of medical education in the state of U.P. It is one of the five medical colleges in India established under the second five year plan.

1. Reservation will be payable as per rules on the above posts. The condition of appointment on contract is as follows: Fixed salary of Professors to be appointed on contract is Rs. 1,35,000 / -, Fixed salary of Associate Professors Rs. 120,000 / and fixed pay to Assistant Professors 60-90,000/- per month.
2. For this, the applicant is required to fulfill the educational qualifications and qualifications prescribed by the Medical Council of India, Minimum Qualification For Teacher an in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998.
3. The maximum age limit for appointment of superannuation medical teachers on contract in Government Allopathic Medical Colleges by Government Order No.-2282/71-1-2013-G-11/2011 dated 23-09-2013 will be 70 years. The maximum age of medical teachers appointed on contract by Government Order No.-562 / 71-1-2020 - G-83 / 2008 dated June 10, 2020, on the first day of July of the year of appointment, 60 years for Assistant Professor, 6 years for Associate Professor And for Professor it will be 68 years.
4. Preference will be given to the candidate who has passed the college related to the selection and the candidate who has got the new postgraduate degree over the previous candidate. The educational qualification/educational experience of medical teachers will be as per the provision in the service rules issued by the UP State Medical College Teachers Rules (Fifth Amendment)-2018 and the service rules issued from time to time.
5. Teachers doing private practice will have to specify the place of private practice.
6. No medical teacher shall compel the patients coming to the hospitals affiliated to this medical college to see them in private. Medical teachers doing private practice will always have to be available in view of emergency/disaster services in medical colleges. In addition to the above fixed pay, no other salary / allowances and service benefits will be admissible to the medical teachers working on contract.
7. The services of medical teachers appointed on contract will be terminated immediately on availability of medical teachers selected through direct recruitment from Public Service Commission and service can be terminated by giving one month notice if the service is not found satisfactory.
8. The contractual tenure of such medical teachers will be one year. After one year's satisfactory salary, the civil service qualified candidates/regular medical teachers are available, if necessary, their dues can be repaid on satisfactory basis.
9. It will be necessary for the medical teachers appointed on contract to join the concerned medical college within a day. In the event of non-joining of the work during the period of time, the contract should be considered as a post-appointment notice of the joining of such medical teachers appointed on the contract, the contract of medical education appointed on the concerned constitution will not be entitled for any kind of related facilities for the tenure.
10. Medical education shall not be entitled for regularization in Government service.
11. The contract based appointment can be terminated by either party and by any notice of one guard or by payment of a contractual salary to a single person.
12. The fee for medical education employed on contract shall be such other terms and conditions as may be specified in the agreement or contract. It will be mentioned in the contract or agreement of the medical teachers working on the contract that they will not be entitled to their regularization or confirmation in future on the basis of their work and their tenure, nor will they get the fixed pay fixed
13. At the time of interview with the candidates. A letter of support will also be obtained to the effect that there is no criminal case against him in the Hon'ble Court.
