Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt, of India. The institute is an integral part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster located at Faridabad, and is designed as a dynamic, interactive organization with the mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into tangible products to improve human health.

This recruitment is to fill up under the DBT/Wellcome Trust India Alliance funded Team Science Grant project (Lead PI: Dr Jayanta Bhattacharya) entitled “Developing broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibody mediated prevention and treatment strategy by assessing their effectiveness in neutralizing HIV-1 subtype C circulating in India across different regions and distinct risk groups.”

Project Manager
Age Limit : 45 years

Minimum Qualification and experience : Ph.D. in Microbiology / Virology / lmmunology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry or any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized University / Institution with 2 years of relevant post qualification experience. OR M.Sc. in any branch of Life Sciences with 5 years of relevant post qualification experience.
Desirable Qualification and Experience :
• Proven working experience in project management
• Excellent external and internal communication skills.
• Monitoring & coordinating routine activities with partners and collaborators.
• Escalating issues & reporting updates to PI, Project Director & Senior Management.
• Present scientific data, project proposal in different meetings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Develop, maintain & review grants, budgets, projects, inventories and database.
• Monitor study progress and provide status to the team routinely.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Work experience in molecular biology / mammalian cell culture / protein purification / virological assays / immunological assays would be plus.

Research Associate
Age Limit : 40 years

Maximum monthly consolidated emoluments : Up to Rs. 61,100/-
Minimum Qualification and experience : PhD / MD in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized laboratory / lnstitution/University , with at least 1 publication in peer reviewed journals. OR having 3 years of postqualification research experience after M.Sc/MVSc/M.Tech with at least one research paper SCI journal
Desirable Qualification and Experience :
• Candidates with research experience in the area of virology / immunology would be preferred.
• Hands on experience in in FACS sorter / flow cytometry / immunological assays / molecular cloning / mammalian cell culture / virus preparation / neutralization assay / protein purification using affinity and size exclusion chromatography.

Research Assistant
Age Limit : 40 years
No of Posts : 01
Maximum monthly consolidated emoluments : Up to Rs. 38,000/-
Minimum Qualification and experience : Bachelor’s degree in any branches in Life Sciences or equivalent grade with at least 3 years of post-qualification work experience OR Master’s degree in any branches of Life Science with 1 year post-qualification experience
Desirable Qualification and Experience : Possess excellent skills in molecular biology, immunological and virological assays, cloning and protein purification

General Terms & Conditions:
1. These are short term positions and extension will be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbents. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment.
2. All educational, professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/University.
3. The experience requirement specified shall be experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications required for the post.
4. Persons working in Govt. / PSUs / autonomous bodies should apply through proper channel or produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ at the time of Interview/ presentation.
5. The age limit, qualification, experience and other requirements may be relaxed at the discretion of the competent authority, in case of candidates who are otherwise suitable. There is no upper age limit for the Institute employees who are treated as departmental candidates.
