Originally established by the Government of Kerala as an advanced centre for medical specialties, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) metamorphosed into an Institute of National Importance with the status of a University in 1980 under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India by an Act of Parliament (Act 52 of 1980). The joint culture of medicine and technology that the Institute pioneered more than three decades ago has come of age and gained unprecedented acceptance in India. Imbued with an inclination to venture into less-trodden domains, the Institute focuses on patient care of high quality, technology development of industrial significance and health research studies of social relevance. The emphasis is on development of facilities less readily available elsewhere in the country such as interventional radiology, cardiac electrophysiology, presurgical evaluation and surgery for epilepsy, microsurgery and deep brain stimulation for movement disorders, new biomedical devices and products, evaluation of medical devices to global specifications, new academic programmes and global public health networks.

Qualification & Experience (Essential)
Research Associate (RA) - I : Ph.D
OR
Veterinary Scientist : M.VSc.
OR
Project Scientist-Professional : B.VSc./B.Pharm/BDS/MBBS
OR
Project Scientist : M.Sc. Clinical Research/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Medical Laboratory Technology
Qualification & Experience (Desirable) : Experience in Clinical research or biomedical product development/commercialization demonstrated by one or more of the following: 1. Publication, 2. Conference presentation, 3. Dissertation
Monthly emoluments
Research Associate (RA) – I : Rs.36,000/- + 20% HRA
Veterinary Scientist : Rs.25,000/- + 20% HRA
Project Scientist-Professional : Rs.20,000/- + 20% HRA
Project Scientist : Rs.16,000/- + 20% HRA
Age limit as on 31.05.2018 : 35 years
Duration : Initially for a period of one year and may be extended upto 2 years or till the completion of the project depending on the performance of the candidate, project duration and progress of the project.

Those who fulfil the above requirements may report for a written test/ interview as per the above schedule along with bio-data and original certificates to prove age, qualifications, experience etc. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Candidates reporting after 9.15 am will NOT be considered for selection. Candidates already in service have to produce a No Objection Certificate from the present employer at the time of interview.
Ph.D CANDIDATES WILL BE PREFERRED. IN THE ABSENCE OF CANDIDATES WITH PH.D QUALIFICATION, THOSE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE POST OF VETERINARY SCIENTIST/PROJECT SCIENTIST-PROFESSIONAL/ PROJECT SCIENTIST WILL BE CONSIDERED AS PER THE QUALIFICATION MENTIONED ABOVE.
Note : Depending on the number of candidates, a written test of a qualifying nature will be conducted for initial screening and only qualified candidates will be called for interview. Marks obtained in the written test, if conducted, will not be counted for final ranking.
