ICT desires to be among top 100 in next 10-15 years with a faculty strength of 500 and student strength of 5000 as well as several Centres of Excellence on three campuses. Research facilities will be made available from the beginning at the new campuses and industries will be invited to partner in these programmes. Obviously the quality of faculty, their qualifications and experience will matter a great deal to be complimented by quality of students. The faculty from the Main Campus in Mumbai will mentor the newly recruited as well as spend time at these locations to integrate them. Being Category I institute, ICT will go beyond many conventional ideas and thus will continue to attract faculty with varied background and experience through rolling advertisements including adjunct faculty, visiting faculty, foreign faculty and those from industry on sabbatical. At these two new campuses, there will be no conventional departments but Centres of Excellence. We will look at the following while recruiting faculty.

Director
Pay scale – Rs. 37400 - 67000 with AGP Rs. 12000 (Minimum pay in Pay Band - Rs. 43,000)
Qualification –
a. Ph.D. preceded by UG / PG degree in Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology/ Pharmacy/ Food Technology/ Textile Engineering/ Energy Engineering/ Petrochemical Engineering in First class or equivalent CGPA score at either of the level.

and
b. Minimum cumulative experience of 20 years in Academics / Research / Industry gained after acquiring Bachelor’s Degree, out of which at least 8 years must be at the level of Professor or equivalent grade in Research / Industry or in Academic administration of Engineering degree level institute / University. and
c. Should have published minimum 100 research papers after Ph.D. in refereed journals with cumulative impact factor of 100. and
d. Should have guided at least 5 Ph.D. students in the relevant field wherein,

A single guide to 3 master’s students in the relevant field shall be considered equivalent to a guide for 1 Ph.D. student.
• 1 patent granted in the relevant field as a first investigator or where applicants own student is the first investigator and applicant himself is the co-investigator shall be considered equivalent to guiding 1 Ph.D. student.
• Technology Transferred at the commercial scale in the relevant field wherein applicant has major contribution in the development of Technology shall be considered in the ratio of 2:5 as guide to Ph.D. student.
Age Limit
Should not be more than 62 years of age which may be relaxed up to 68 years for retired/ on the verge of retirement Distinguished Professors, Fellows of National Academy, G/ H level Eminent Scientists from Government Laboratories such as CSIR, DRDO and the like having excellent credentials, desire to shoulder mentorship and deliver at highest level.

Professor
Pay scale – Rs. 37400 - 67000 with AGP Rs. 10000 (Minimum pay in Pay Band - Rs. 43,000)
Qualification
a. Ph.D. preceded by UG / PG degree in the relevant branch of engineering / Technology / Pharmacy / Sciences in First class or equivalent CGPA score at either of the level. and
b. Minimum cumulative experience of 15 years in Academics / Research / Industry gained after acquiring Bachelor’s Degree, out of which at least 5 years must be at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent grade in Research / Industry. and
c. Should have published minimum 50 research papers after Ph.D. in refereed journals with cumulative impact factor of 80 wherein 10 years or more experience at equivalent level of Associate Professor in Industry/ Government Laboratories of high repute shall be considered equivalent to 25 Research papers having cumulative impact factor 50.
and
d. Should have guided at least 5 Ph.D. students in the relevant field wherein,
• A single guide to 3 master’s students in the relevant field shall be considered equivalent to a guide for 1 Ph.D. student.

Associate Professor
Pay scale – Rs. 37400 - 67000 with AGP Rs. 9000
Qualification –
a. Ph.D. preceded by UG / PG degree in the relevant branch of engineering / Technology / Pharmacy / Sciences in First class or equivalent CGPA score at either of the level. and
b. Minimum cumulative experience of 8 years in Academics / Research / Industry gained after acquiring Bachelor’s Degree, out of which at least 5 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent grade in Research / Industry. and
c. Should have published minimum 25 research papers after Ph.D. in refereed journals with cumulative impact factor of 50 wherein 5 years or more experience at equivalent level of Assistant Professor in Industry/ Government Laboratories of high repute shall be considered equivalent to 15 Research papers having cumulative impact factor 25. and
d. Should have guided at least 2 Ph.D. students in the relevant field wherein,
• A single guide to 3 master’s students in the relevant field shall be considered equivalent to a guide for 1 Ph.D. student.
• 1 patent granted in the relevant field as a first investigator or where applicants own student is the first investigator and applicant himself is the co-investigator shall be considered equivalent to guiding 1 Ph.D. student.

Technology Transferred at the commercial scale in the relevant field wherein applicant has major contribution in the development of Technology shall be considered in the ratio of 2:5 as guide to Ph.D. student.
e. Deserving DST Inspire faculty/ UGC Recharge faculty/ Ramanujan Fellows/ Ramalingaswami Fellows shall be considered for appointment with due weightage.

Note- Criteria under C and D above can be relaxed for appointment in Mathematics for exceptional candidates having excellent academic record and zeal to excel.

Age Limit – Should not be more than 55 years of age.

Assistant Professor
Pay scale – Rs. 15600 - 39100 with AGP Rs. 6000
Qualification –
a. Ph.D. preceded by UG / PG degree in the relevant branch of engineering / Technology / Pharmacy / Sciences in First class or equivalent CGPA score at either of the level. and Should have published minimum 5 research papers in refereed journals with cumulative impact factor of 10
b. Deserving DST Inspire faculty/ UGC Recharge faculty/ Ramanujan Fellows/ Ramalingaswami Fellows shall be considered for appointment with due weightage.
Age Limit – Should not be more than 40 years of age.

Associate Dean (Industry) for Industry Liaison and Placements
Pay scale – Rs. 37400 - 67000 with AGP Rs. 10000 (Minimum pay in Pay Band - Rs. 43,000)
Qualification –
a. Masters degree in Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology/ Pharmacy/ Food Technology/ Textile Engineering/ Energy Engineering/ Petrochemical Engineering in First class or equivalent CGPA score at either Bachelor or Master level and Masters of Business Administration or equivalent preferably in Marketing in first class will be desirable but not necessary.
Minimum cumulative experience of 20 years in Industry gained after acquiring Bachelor’s Degree, out of which at least 5 years must be at the level of General Manager or equivalent grade in highly reputed industry and in the field of sales and Marketing.
Age Limit – Should not be more than 60 years of age.

Instructions:
1. Nominated candidates by Eminent Academicians such as Vice Chancellors/ Directors of Institute of national Importance etc. and Eminent Scientist shall also be considered for appointment subjected to successful interview.
2. Current faculty members of ICT Mumbai are eligible to apply or show their interest in writing to the Vice Chancellor and assume new responsibility. They need not fill in the application but should complete their database in the MIS. They will be provided additional incentive like IITs to accommodate research needs and guide or co-guide students working on those campuses. They can also go there for a trimester with their entire research group without losing any academic advantages.
3. Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience of any type for a given post are minimum and mere possession of the same shall not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview. Since the programmes are multi-disciplinary the Search-cum-Selection Committee will consider the relevance of basic qualification and research experience and the potential of the candidate to develop the new programmes and participate in brand building.
4. If a Class/ Division is not awarded at the Bachelor’s/ Master’s level, a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate shall be considered equivalent to First class/ division. If a Grade Point system is adopted, the CGPA will be converted into equivalent marks.
5. Co-Guide ship for Ph. D / Masters Students shall not be considered for calculating equivalence as Ph. D. guide.
6. The period of time taken by candidate to acquire M.Phil. and / or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as teaching/ research experience to be claimed for appointment to the teaching positions.
7. The publications based on the independent or guided research work during the qualifying service in the lower grade or those emanating from post-doctoral work in reputed academic/ research institute shall only be considered for calculation of merit. Applicant’s own doctorate publications will not be considered except at Assistant Professor level.
8. Only those publications will be considered for calculation of impact factor where the applicant is the author for correspondence (Main author) or where at least one of the co- authors is his / her own student under supervision.
9. In case of candidates who have guided Ph.D.s/ Masters students, there should be publications/ patents arising out of the Ph.D. thesis in refereed national/ international journals. Merely guiding or co-guiding Ph.D. will not gain any weightage in the absence of publications.
10. The research papers published in cited research journals of repute in the relevant scientific areas shall only be considered for giving due merit.
11. The quality and impact factor of the journal for a specific discipline will be decided by the Scrutiny Committee and a cumulative impact factor for that discipline shall be as reported on Scopus and Web of Science.
12. In case of multiple author papers, or multi-institutional collaborations, the contribution of the candidate will be decided as per the status of the candidate whether s/he has worked as corresponding author/ supervisor, co-author or one of the students.
13. Assessment of Analytical ability test will be conducted for every candidate who is called for interview.
14. The short-listed candidates will be required to make three types of presentations before the Departmental Committee prior to interview by the Selection Committee:
1) Classroom teaching,
2) Past research and future research interests and
3) Plans for out-reach activities. The performance in these presentations along with analytical ability result will be one of the major criteria for selection of the candidate for faculty position.

Important points to note before filling up the Application Form:
1. Online application form is available on the ICT website ictmumbai.edu.in from July 9, 2018 to July 20, 2018. The Candidates are required to submit online application form along with supporting documents on or before July 20, 2018.
2. The appointments shall be carried out on the temporary basis but are likely to be made permanent subjected to the roaster positions, category of selected candidates and approval of Board.
3. The applicant registration fee for Institute MIS system shall be Rs. 100/-.
4. The application fee of Rs.1000/- (for Open Category) and Rs. 500/- (for candidates belonging to reserved categories), shall be paid online while submitting the form.
5. Candidates already employed must submit their applications through proper channel along with No Objection certificate from present employer.
6. Applications incomplete in any respect, applications without required supporting documents or those submitted after the last date of receipt of application will not be considered.
7. Candidates are requested to refer ICT website from time to time as all information and circulars will be notified on the website.
8. Teaching Experience as an approved teacher by the related University or equivalent authority will only be considered. Relevant experience and educational qualification will be counted as on the last date prescribed for submitting the applications, i.e. 20thJuly, 2018.
9. The decision of the appointing authority will be final and binding on applicants and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
10. No correspondence with ineligible candidates will be made.
11. Candidates called for interview will have to remain present at their own expenses.
12. Candidates should invariably fill the information regarding court cases, pending criminal cases, disciplinary actions or equivalent, etc. in the relevant column of the application Form. In such cases, the Scrutiny Committee reserves the right to consider or not to consider the candidature for the recruitment. Any changes in this information as and when occurred after the submission of application form till the date of selection committee meeting for recruitment process should be brought to the notice of the Institute by the candidate, failing which the Institute reserves the right to cancel the candidature and to debar him/her from selection or after selection.
13. A person appointed to the post shall be on probation for a period of one year.
14. This is a rolling advertisement. After the current faculty recruitment process is over, the vacancies will be indicated on the ICT website and the process will continue till all the posts are filled up.
