NIT Rourkela is one of the premier national level institutions for technical education in the country and is funded by the Government of India. Government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to a deemed university under the name of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.

Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following assignment in a purely time bound research project undertaken in the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering of the Institute.

Post : Junior Research Fellow

Name of the Research Project : Study for the development and characterization of immunomodulating functional mango butter based chocolate fortified with curcuminoids and its potential uses. (Indo-Korea)

Name of the Sponsoring Agency : DST, Government of India

Tenure of the Project : 03 Years

Tenure of the Assignment : 03 years or Completion of Project whichever is earlier.

Job Description : Day-to-day research activities related to the project, as for example, handling and culture of probiotics, preparation of chocolates, performing animal cell culture related assays like ELISA, immunocytochemistry, FACS analysis etc. The student is expected to enroll in the PhD program of NIT Rourkela.

 

Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship :
Rs. 25,000/- per month for 1st and 2nd year Rs. 28,000/- per month for 3rd year

Essential Qualifications and experience :
1. B. Tech. (Biotechnology) with valid GATE score and >60%/ 6.5 CGPA 2. B. Tech. (Biomedical Engineering) with valid GATE score and >60%/ 6.5 CGPA 3. B. Pharm. with valid GATE/GPAT score and >70%/ 7.5 CGPA (>60% in class X and XII (for all 1, 2 and 3); >60%/ 6.5 CGPA in 1 and 2; >70% or 7.5 CGPA in 3; Possession of valid GATE or GPAT score is not mandatory for M. Tech./ M. Pharm. students)

The candidates with the following additional desirable qualification may be given preference: 1. M. Tech. (Biotechnology) with >60%/ 6.5 CGPA 2. M. Tech. (Biomedical Engineering) with >60%/ 6.5 CGPA 3. M. Pharm. with >70%/ 7.5 CGPA (Candidates should meet the essential academic standards mentioned in point 8)
