Candidates who have secured not less than 55% marks at the Masters Degree Examination are eligible to apply for the test/Ph.D admission. Regular teachers from Government/Aided Colleges & University Departments and candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy-layer) and physically handicapped, with 50% marks are eligible to apply for the test.
The entrance test will be conducted on 20.09.2015 (September 20th , 2015). The test will be of three hours duration and will carry a maximum of 100 marks including objective and descriptive questions. Syllabus for the entrance test will be based on the syllabus for UGC/CSIR/NET examinations.
Result will be announced in the month of October. Candidates with 50% marks in the entrance examination (35% for SC/ST candidates) shall be eligible for registration to course work leading to Ph.D. Programme.
The Candidates who qualify the Entrance Test are to undergo six months regular compulsory Course Work.
Only those candidates (qualified & exempted from entrance exam) who produce willingness from Research Guides to supervise their research work will be granted registration to Course Work & Ph D Programme.
Exemptions from Entrance Test.
1) Regular Teachers of Government/ Aided Colleges & University Teaching Department.
2) Regular teachers of unaided Colleges under Kannur University with 5 years of continues teaching experience
3) Candidates who have qualified CSIR/UGC-NET/ICAR/ICMR, KSCSTE/JRF Examination.
4) Candidates who are selected for the direct fellowship of State, Central Govt. funding agencies. (JRF’s, RA’s etc who were doing project work under Principal Investigator are not exempted from entrance test)
5) Candidates who hold M.Phil degree under regular scheme from Recognised Universities.
6) Candidates who have selected for Rajeev Gandhi National Fellowship.
7) Scientists/Social Scientists with experience for not less than 3 years after getting permanent appointment at recognised Research Centres under Central/State government or Central/State Government funding agencies.
(All the relevant documents to processing the same should be sent along with the application. Otherwise they are to attend entrance examination)
How to apply: Candidate should apply online from 15th July 2015, 5pm and down load the printout and sent it along with necessary document and fees to the Registrar by 30th July 2015 (5pm) (Thursday). Photo graphs in the application (printout) should be attested by a Gazetted officer.
Incomplete and applications received after the last date of receipt of applications will be rejected.
Documents to be enclosed with the application:
1. Attested copies of the qualifying Examinations.
2. Challan receipt for Rs. 550/- as application fee.
3. Attested copies of the certificate for claiming exemption from the Entrance test.
4. Recognition/Equivalence Certificate of the course qualified from other states.
Head of Account for remitting the fee via Treasuries in Kerala state – 8658-00-102-96 (27) KUS. Fee can be remitted through the pay-in-slip of the SBT for Kannur University.
Applicants residing outside Kerala shall remit the fee through Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Kannur University, payable at SBT Kannur University, Thavakkara Branch.
