All India Institute of Medical Science, Bathinda (Punjab), an autonomous Institute of National Importance is one of the new AIIMS being established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swastya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with the aim of correcting regional imbalance in the quality tertiary level healthcare in the country and attaining Selfsufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education of training.
Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 01 Post
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the following position through walk-In-Interview under Research project entitled “Exploring the role of mitochondria-targeted antioxidants against chemotherapy-induced side effects in mice heart” sponsored by Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR), New Delhi at AIIMS Bathinda, Punjab.
Duration of Position : 2 years
Emoluments : Rs 31000/- PM + HRA
Essential Qualifications : Applicants must have MS/MPharm/ M.Tech/Master’s degree in Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Microbiology / Biochemistry / or Equivalent with minimum 60% marks in degree. Candidate should have a clear commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.
Preferable qualifications : NET/GATE/CSIR/UGC qualified and research experience in the related field will be preferred.
Desirable qualifications : The candidate should have an experience in cell culture / Western blot, RT-PCR, animal handling/ Molecular biology / analytical biochemistry. Candidates with additional experience of bioinformatics and fluorescence microscopy will be preferred.
Job Profile
Candidate is expected to develop a cancer model and needs to work including molecular pharmacology, drug development, mitochondria biology, cancer biology and therapeutics. The applicant will also be expected to contribute to other research works going on in the department. Candidate needs to travel 2-3 times in a year related to the work to the collaborative institute.
Upper Age Limit as on the last date of Application : 28 years on the date of application, with relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms

1. The Position is Purely Temporary and is Coterminous with the Project.
2. The PI has the direction to restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement.
