The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
Post : Project Associate-I [01 Position]
Eligible, interested and highly motivated candidates are invited to apply for the following purely temporary position(s) under the SERB-funded Project “Molecular Evaluation of Newly Synthesized Isatin-Indole Hybrids as Potential Antibacterial Agents Targeting The Pyruvate Kinase Enzyme Activity of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa (GAP-3156)” tenable at CSIR - Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu
Essential Qualification(s) : M.Sc./ M.S./ M.Pharm in Chemistry/ Organic Chemistry/ Natural Products Chemistry from a recognized university or equivalent.
Desirable : Research experience/ knowledge in Organic Synthesis/ Natural Products Chemistry will be preferred.
Upper Age Limit : 35 years
Monthly Emoluments : i. 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests CSIR- UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institution ii. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
Important Instructions
1. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The engagement shall be initially for a period of ONE YEAR or till the project duration, whichever is earlier. The engagement shall be extendable on yearly basis subject to performance review and project duration. The duration of the project is up to 31.03.2026.
2. The engagement of a project staff in different projects either in the CSIR – Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu or different Lab./Instt. of CSIR taken together shall not exceed 6 years in any case. It would, therefore, not confer any right/claim implicit or explicit for any candidate for claiming extension or absorption in CSIR-IIIM, Jammu.
3. Age will be reckoned as on the date of the Interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates as per GOI/CSIR Instructions. Candidates belonging to these categories should send the certificates in the prescribed format issued by the appropriate authority as per the latest instructions issued on the subject.
4. Age relaxation for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands who have not remarried since, as per GOI/ CSIR provisions.
5. The filled-in Google Form should be submitted by or before 07th February 2025 (Friday) up to 05:00 PM. Google/Application Forms submitted after the scheduled date and time shall not be entertained for the interview and summarily rejected.
6. Only eligible candidates shall be accessed for the interview. The list of eligible candidates and the date for the interview will be displayed on the CSIR-IIIM Website, iiim.res.in, by the evening on 10th February 2025 (Monday). Eligible/shortlisted candidates shall attend the interview either in-person at Board Room, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu or through video conferencing on MS Teams. Candidates who opt for in-person interview shall reach CSIR-IIIM by 09:30 AM on the date of interview.
7. In case a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may re-visit the screening criteria and shortlist the candidates for interview in proportion to the available vacancies.
8. Candidate has the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
9. In case the final certificates reflect CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades, the candidate should convert the same into an equivalent percentage as per the approved formula of the University in the Google Form, and a copy of such conversion must be attached along with the Google form.
10. To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfil the eligibility criteria and possess the degrees/mark sheets in the subjects above should apply for the interview.
11. Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
12. Candidates currently engaged in any project at the Institute must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/candidature/selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.
INTERIM ENQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED. NO TA/DA SHALL BE PAID FOR ATTENDING THE INTERVIEW IN-PERSON.
