The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, formerly known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) till 1970, was established in July 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations. It serves as a regional centre for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities. It was declared as a 'Deemed to be University' on August 14, 1985, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution. In 2006, the Institute celebrated its Golden Jubilee.

Essential Qualifications
Educational Qualification :
• MBBS with 2 years of relevant experience.
OR
• BUMS/BAMS/BHMS/BDS/ B.Pharm/ M.Pharm/B.Sc. Nursing/BPT/ BPMT/ M.Sc. in Biochemistry or Biotechnology with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Work Experience :
• Experience in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation systems within the health sector.
Specialized Expertise :
• Demonstrated experience in Public Health, healthcare, National Health Systems, Health Policy, or Health Surveys, Ageing
Research and Analytical Skills :
• Understanding of quantitative research methods and measurement techniques.
Technical Proficiency :
• Familiar in the use of STATA, SPSS and proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Communication Skills :
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Desirable Qualifications :
• Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Knowledge o Understanding of health monitoring and evaluation systems, including the definition and measurement of core health indicators.
Field Experience :
• Experience in field survey settings.
Work Adaptability :
• Willingness to undertake extensive travel across the country and manage tasks under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, operationalize, and coordinate the Health and Biomarker component of the LASI project in coordination with IIPS team.
• Manage the technical aspects of data validation, adherence to methodologies, and coordination with LASI head office staff (IIPS).
• Work in coordination with Health, Research, and IT teams to monitor activities and ensure smooth project implementation.
• Monitoring of state-level trainings, workshops, and related capacity-building initiatives.
• Support the preparation of project reports, deliverables, and related documentation.
• Any other responsibility of the survey that may be assigned from time to time.
Monthly emoluments : Rs. 70,000/- to Rs. 85,000/- (Consolidated)
These are purely temporary, project-based positions located at the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi. The appointment will initially will be for six months and likely to be extended. Educational qualifications or work experience requirements may be relaxed in deserving cases.
