Life Sciences Recruitment in SERB funded project at NBPGR

National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi and Bioversity International-India, New Delhi in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Association for Agricultural Research Insti-tutes Bangkok, are organizing the Eighth International Training Course on In Vitro and Cryopreservation Approaches for Conservation of Plant Genetic Resources’ from Nov. 5-19, 2019.

Post : SRF - Senior Research Fellow (One)

Applications are invited to attend Interview (walk-in/online) for the post of one Senior Research Fellow in SERB funded project at ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi.

Project Title : Cryobiotechnological approaches for Genetic Resource Conservation and Creation of a Base Germplasm Collection of Indian Piper Species 

Name of the PI : Dr Era V. Malhotra

Period : upto Jan 2026

Emoluments : Rs. 35000/- + HRA


Essential Qualifications : Post Graduate Degree in Molecular Biology / Biotechnology/ Life Sciences/ Basic Science OR Graduate/ Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course, selected through a process described through any one of the following:
 i) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR/UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE 
ii) The Selection process through National Level examination conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MFIRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc. 2 years Research experience in the relevant field Upper age limit : 35 years on the date of advertisement. Age limits are relaxable for 5 years for SC/ ST/ female candidates, upto 10 years for Differently Abled candidates and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates as per Govt. of India norms.

General Terms and Conditions
• Candidates are requested to ensure their eligibility like age, qualification etc. before appearing for the interview 
• Candidates having essential qualification will only be considered for interview. 
• No TA/DA and official accommodation will be provided for appearing in the interview. 
• The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The selected candidate has no right to claim for regularization or absorption whatsoever in ICAR/NBPGR 
• The decision of Director of the institute will be final and binding in all aspects. 
• The Director reserves the right to terminate the contract of job as mentioned above, even before the completion of the project for which no appeal thereof shall be entertained. 


• Candidates are required to send scanned pdf copy of all the relevant certificates/ mark sheets etc., with an application with full bio-data affixing a passport size photograph on the top. The originals will be verified at the time of joining. 
• If any information of the candidate is found to be incorrect or concealing any facts, his/her candidature to the interview/ selection to the post is liable to be cancelled at any stage. 
• Emoluments may be paid as per satisfaction of the work by the PI and fund availability by the funding agency. 
• In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi only.
