Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers.

Essential Qualification : (i) Masters / Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences MVSc / Animal Sciences OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent
And
2 years experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services
OR (ii) Masters/ Integrated masters in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university
Desirable : 2 years of R&D experience in Infectious disease research with experience related to research in BSL-3 lab
Upper Age limit (years) - 35 years Relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ST/PwBD/Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.
Monthly Emoluments : (i) Rs.35,000/- +HRA for those candidate who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/assistant professorship or GATE
OR
Those who have qualified national level examinations conducted by central government department like DBT/DST or equivalent and/ or their agencies/ Institutions.
(ii) Rs. 28000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
