The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi owes its existence to Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of the first residential University of modern India, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), who could foresee the vital role of technical education in strengthening independent India. Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO).
Post : Project Research Scientist-I
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Project Research Scientist-I to work on ICMR-sponsored project under the supervision of Prof. Sairam Krishnamurthy, Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering & Technology, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India.
Title of the project : Development of regenerative nanofibrous bioactive conduit for treatment of spinal cord injury.
Duration : Three years. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Essential qualifications : (1) First-class postgraduate degree including the integrated PG degree. (2) Second-class postgraduate degree, including the integrated PG degree with Ph.D. (3). For Engineering/IT/CS-First class graduate degree of four years.
Desirable qualifications : First class degree in M.Pharm / M. S. (Pharm.) / M.Tech (Pharm) / M.Tech in Pharmacology/ Biotechnology / Pharmaceutics with GATE/GPAT/CSIR-NET or equivalent qualifications. The candidates should have a basic degree in pharmacy/pharmaceutical engineering/pharmaceutical sciences (B. Pharm/B.Tech). Candidates with experience in animal handling, pharmacological models and molecular biology techniques would be preferred
Salary : Rs. 56,000 + HRA (16%) per month
Age limit : 35 Years (relaxable for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates as per the GOI norms). All things being equal, SC/ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules. Candidates with experience in animal handling, pharmacological models and molecular biology techniques would be preferred
