For the development of Siddha system of Medicine, Govt. of India, by bifurcating the erstwhile CCRAS, formed CCRS (Central Council for Research in Siddha) with its headquarters in Chennai and eight Research Institutes/Units in six states namely, Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Mettur & Palayamkottai), Puducherry, New Delhi, Kerala (Thiruvananthapuram), Karnataka(Banglore) and Andra Pradesh (Tirupati). Siddha is a science of holistic health emphasizing both drug and diet for human health care.
Post : Junior Research Fellow Chemistry - (01) Post
Applications are invited for the one post of Junior Research Fellow (Chemistry) under the project “Preparation of monographs for some least studied / extra pharmacopoeial medicinal plants in Siddha System of Medicine” as mentioned below from the eligible candidates in the prescribed proforma appended. The engagement will be purely on contract basis and no claim for continuation or regular appointment will be entertained.

Essential Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in Chemistry from a recognized University
Desirable Qualification and experience
• Previous experience in any research project funded by the Ministry of AYUSH, ICMR, CSIR, DST, or equivalent organization
• Working experience in HPTLC/phytochemical techniques will be preferred
• Publication either as primary or corresponding author in peer-reviewed journals will be preferred
• Working knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. etc.
• Skills of drafting, editing of scientific documents / articles / Technical Reports, etc.
• Good scientific writing and communication skills
Emoluments : Rs.31,000/-+HRA (admissible as per rules) p.m.
Age Limit : Maximum Upper age limit is 28 years. Age relaxation for reserve candidate will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
Duration : Two years The appointment will be initially for a period of one year, which may be extended at the discretion of the competent authority.

Instructions to the candidates

2) Candidates should enclose photocopies of educational qualification and experience and other testimonials duly self-attested along with the filled application.
3) The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of application.
4) Experience certificate should clearly state the nature of work done during the period of employment.
5) The post will be contractual for the duration offered. The appointment may be renewed after every specific period of time subject to satisfactory performance and project requirement.
6) Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under CCRS or continuation of his/her services in any other projects.
7) Candidates are advised to check CCRS website regularly for further information, changes, which will be updated from time to time.

9) Incomplete applications without relevant enclosures will be summarily rejected and the final decision will be made by the scrutinizing committee.
