Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS) is a not for profit Research Institute with a mission to be the preferred research partner to the pharma and life sciences industry. DRILS focuses on original research and advancement of relevant skills, with emphasis on solution-oriented interdisciplinary research for solving unmet needs and for process innovation. The Institute has been set up on a public-private partnership model by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, the Government of Telangana, and the University of Hyderabad, and is governed by a Board of Directors comprising eminent scientists and visionaries.
Post : JRF and SRF
Applications are invited for the following posts of Junior and Senior Research Fellowships (temporary position coterminous with the project) under DBT funded research project entitled “A preclinical lead optimization study of adjunct medicaments for reducing duration and increasing efficacy of anti-tuberculosis drug therapy” to be carried out at Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS).
Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) - 02 posts
for two years and then Senior Research Fellowship for one year. Stipend (consolidated): Rs. 31,000/month plus 24% HRA (total 38,440/month) for first two years and then 35,000/month plus 24% HRA (Total 43,400/month) for third (one) year.
Essential Qualifications
Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences or Graduate / Post-graduate degree in professional course selected through a process described through any one of the following: a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests-CSIR UGC NET including Lectureship and GATE b. Selection process through National Level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IISc, IISER etc.
2 Desirable : 1) Medicinal / Organic Chemistry: Experiences in drug design, medicinal chemistry & organic synthesis
2) Biology : Experiences in various methods / techniques in practical biology including recombinant enzyme purification as well as development and establishing various assay methods e.g. enzymatic, cell-based assay etc.
Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) - 01 post
for three years. Stipend (consolidated) : Rs. 35,000/ month plus 24% HRA (Total 43,400/month) only for those candidates who already completed JRF for two years.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates who have completed JRF for 2 years in the area of Medicinal / Organic Chemistry or Biology will be considered for SRF. Desirable: Experiences in drug design, medicinal chemistry & organic synthesis supported by publications / patents etc.
Responsibilities
1) Literature search.
2) Design, plan and execute experiments under the supervision of the PI.
3) Provide scientific support to the PI in his / her research activities.
4) Book keeping and maintenance of stocks and consumables.
Terms and conditions
The availability of the fellowships depends on the progress of the project and funds approved / released by DBT. The performance of the candidate will be reviewed annually and the fellowship will be renewed only upon satisfactory performance. No claim could be made for the extension of this work into a PhD program during the project or later (No guarantee will be given for pursuing PhD during this project).

The qualifying candidates are expected to start working within 2 weeks of their selection.
Note : No TA / DA will be paid to candidates who are requested to be present at DRILS physically for attending an interview. Outstation candidates need to make their own arrangements for travelling and staying in Hyderabad.
