Job Description
1. To assist in establishment of animal facility/vivarium as per CPCSEA, AAALAC, NRC and GLP principles
2. Preparation/review of SOPs required for functioning of animal house facility as per national and international standards
3. To ensure animal health monitoring as per FELASA, CPCSEA, AAALAC and GLP requirements
4. Ensure animal house facility maintenance as per established SOPs for daily room activities (veterinary care practices, temperature, humidity, air cycles, quarantine records, Form B records, microbial monitoring etc.,) and other documentation/record keeping
5. Supervising and training of the Animal care personnel for their job/role and ensure occupational safety measures are in place as per standards/SOPs
6. To be a part of IAEC/CPCSEA committee and getting the approval of Part B protocols
7. Ensure/monitor sterilization of animal house accessories (animal cages, water bottles, bedding material etc.,)
8. Assist in animal vendor evaluation of suppliers such as animal, animal bedding, rodent diet etc.,
9. Ensure procurement, transportation, quarantining and Issuance of animals to study team
10. Should be well versed/worked in a GLP certified facility and should demonstrate skills related to laboratory animals (rodents, rabbits) handling, dosing, anaesthesia/euthanasia, blood sampling, animal house keeping, health monitoring and clinical signs observation etc.
