Established in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential University by the Act of the then Central Legislative Assembly, a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research and social outreach has made the University a role-model and trend setter for other universities. Post : Research Associate

Applications are invited for one “Research Associate - III” position to work in Indo-Russian Sponsored DST project entitled "Design and optimization of biocompatible optical nanostructures for biomedical applications" under supervision of Prof. Ramesh Chandra. Appointment will be made as per DST guidelines for RA-III position and detailed requirements are given below.

Eligibility
- Candidates must have Ph.D. in Chemistry / equivalent subjects, or having 3 years of research, teaching and design & development experience after M.Sc / MVSc / M.Pharm / ME / M.Tech in relevant subjects with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
- Candidate preferably should have experience in field of Optical Nanostructures, Design. Synthesis and Biomedical Applications.

Remuneration
Candidate will be paid as per DST guidelines @54000 + HRA24%.

Service Conditions:
DA : Research Associate will not be entitled to DA.

House Rent Allowance (HRA):
Candidate may be provided hostel accommodation wherever available. Research fellowship holder residing in hostel shall not be entitled for HRA. Wherever provision of hostel accommodation is not possible, HRA may be allowed, as per Central Government norms applicable in the city/location where they are working. The percentage required for calculating HRA will be based on the fellowship amount.

Medical Benefits:
The research associate will be entitled for medical allowance as applicable in the implementing institution .

Leave and other entitlements:
Research Associates are entitled to leave as per rules of the host institution. Participation of RA in scientific event/workshops held in India or abroad will be treated as “on duty” with due approval of the host institution. The travel entitlement for RA for participation in scientific event/workshops held in India will continue to be the same as earlier i.e. 2nd AC by rail. Maternity leave as per the Govt, of India instruction issued from time to time would be available to female candidates in all categories.

Bonus & Leave Travel Concession:
Research Associate will not The entitled to these allowances.

Retirement Benefits:
Research Associate will not be entitled to these benefits.

Age Limit
The upper age limit for applying for award of RA shall be 35 years. The upper age limit is relaxable, up to 5 years in the case of applicants belonging to scheduled castes/ scheduled tribcs / OBC, Physically handicapped and women applicants.

Duration of Fellowship
Candidate will be appointed initially for one year and after evaluation may be continued till the tenure of the project (two years). If work report is not satisfactory, fellowship may be terminated before time.
