Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’. The story of its growth from a small institution in the pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi offering integrated education from nursery to research in specialized areas is a saga of dedication, conviction and vision of a people who worked against all odds and saw it growing step by step.
Post : Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for the post of project JRF in the sanctioned project funded by "Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)-ECR" under Dr. Jawed Iqbal. Project entitled: "To investigate the critical role of Osteopontin (OPN) on MAVS-mediated HCV replication, assembly and impaired host innate response during HCV infection".
Educational Qualifications: M.Sc (in any area of Life-sciences / Agricultural Science / Biological Science / Bioinformatics or related subject) with a minimum of 50 % aggregate marks (equivalent CGPA). Candidates with NET / GATE are encouraged to apply.
Fellowship: - As per Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB)-ECR rule.
Duration : The appointment will be purely on temporary basis for first year initially which can be further extended based on the performance of the candidate. However, the duration of JRF is co-terminus with the duration of the Project and will have no financial liability beyond duration of the project.
Note: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for the interview.
