National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.At the time of its golden jubilee in 1969, it was renamed as National Institute of Nutrition (NIN).

Post : Scientist - B (Non Medical) (MRHRU Coordinator)

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts under the project entitled “Impact of measles rubella vaccination campaign on population immunity in India” (IMRV study). The project is funded by ICMR and ICMR-NIN is executing agency.

Essential Qualifications : 1st Class Master’s degree in Life Sciences from recognized university. 2 years experience in Clinical Biochemistry/ Field Work. OR
2nd Class Master’s degree with Ph.D. in Clinical Biochemistry subject from a recognized university.

Desirable : Two years experience in community studies.

Nature of duties : Data collection, clinical examination etc.,

Age : 35 years. Age relaxation is admissible as per ICMR guidelines*2.

Consolidated Pay : Rs.50,100/-(48000+10% HRA) p.m. fixed without any other allowances.

Tenure : 5 months only.

Place of work : MRHRU, Chandragiri, Chittoor District, AP.

The candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualifications (from SSC onwards), Experience, Address Proof/ Aadhaar Card & Community Certificates along with one set of photocopies of the same duly attested (can be self attested) along with a passport size photograph for attending the Written Test/ Interview. No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the Written Test/ Interview. The recruited project staff is eligible for leave as per rules and will have to give an undertaking before joining. The persons belonging to Other Backward Category should bring the latest O.B.C. (Non-creamy layer) Certificate issued by the respective Tahsildar/ MRO specifically issued for the purpose of applying for Central Government Post/s. GENERAL CONDITIONS: The conditions of employment will be the same as that of the project staff on contract basis. The candidates have no right to claim for any regular employment at this Institute. The Director & Appointing Authority has the right to accept/ reject any application without assigning any reason(s) and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained. Candidates applying for more than one post need to submit separate application for each post. Age, qualifications, etc., will be reckoned as on the date of written test/ interview.

Applications will be received from the individuals by hand on the date of Walk-in-Written Test/ Interview between 09:30 A M and 10:30 A M. at S.V. Medical College, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The candidate will not be allowed to enter the Venue after 10:30 A.M. under any circumstances.

Date of Interview : 7th January, 2020, after verification of original certificates.
