To trace the history of Jadavpur University is to trace a part of India’s freedom movement, at least from the Swadeshi Movement onwards. It was 1905 -1906. Bengal stood divided. The times were feverish.The hegemony of the British establishment had to be challenged. Education had to play a new role in this changed scenario. It had to become a new form of resistance through which the emergent nationalist spirit could be propagated. With this in mind the National Council of Education (NCE) came into being.

A walk-in interview for recruitment of Research Fellows at Doctoral level under JU-RUSA 2.0 Doctoral Scholarship scheme will be held on 11th January 2019 in the Meeting / Seminar Room of each department under faculty of Engineering and Technology.
No of Fellowship: 35 (All departments under F.E.T.)
Essential Qualification: Candidate already registered in Ph.D. Programme under Faculty Council for Engineering & Technology. Candidate must be qualified in M.E. / M.Tech. / M. Arch / M. Pharmacy /M.C.A. in relevant disciplines.
Duration: up to 31st March 2020
Amount of Fellowship: Rs. 30,000.00 per month (consolidated)
Candidates who are already registered for PhD under faculty of Engineering and Technology may appear for interview directly in person with filled-in applicationform to be obtained (Rs. 50/-) from the Information Section of this University. Original as well asattested copies of Certificates, Mark Sheets and other Testimonials need to be produced at the time of interview. No TA / DA is admissible for attending the interview.
Date of Interview : 11th January, 2019. Reporting time for Interview: 12 hours.
Venue of the Interview: Meeting/Seminar Room of respective department.
