Under the Drug and Cosmetics Act, the regulation of manufacture, sale and distribution of Drugs is primarily the concern of the State authorities while the Central Authorities are responsible for approval of New Drugs, Clinical Trials in the country, laying down the standards for Drugs, control over the quality of imported Drugs, coordination of the activities of State Drug Control Organisations and providing expert advice with a view of bring about the uniformity in the enforcement of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.   Drug Controller General of India is responsible for approval of licenses of specified categories of Drugs such as blood and blood products, I. V. Fluids, Vaccine and Sera.  Central Drugs Standard Control Organization Head quarter is located at FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi 110002 and functions under the Directorate General of Health Services.

Services of a suitable officer for the post of Drugs Inspector/Medical Devices in CDSCO, Directorate General of Health Service are required as per details given in the Annexure-I. The pay of the Officer selected will be regulated in accordance with the revised pay structure level 8 in pay Metrix. The period of deputation will not ordinarily exceed 3 years.

Interested Officers who are eligible to apply for the post, should apply giving the detailed information as per annexure-II. Officers who volunteer for the post will not be allowed to withdraw their names later.

Eligibility Conditions:
1.On Deputation(ISTC):
i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department:;
ii) With two years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the level-7 in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre/department; or
iii) With six years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in level-6 in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre/ department; and
A) Possessing educational qualifications and experience prescribed for direct recruits under column 6.

Note 1: The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation (ISTC). Similarly, deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.

Note 2: Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of the Central Govt, shall ordinarily not to exceed three years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (ISTC) shall be not exceeding 56 years as on the closing dated of receipt or applications.
