Jamia Millia Islamia, an institution originally established at Aligarh in United Provinces, India in 1920 became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. In Urdu language, Jamia means ‘University’, and Millia means ‘National’. The story of its growth from a small institution in the pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi—offering integrated education from nursery to research in specialized areas—is a saga of dedication, conviction and vision of a people who worked against all odds and saw it growing step by step. They “built up the Jamia Millia stone by stone and sacrifice by sacrifice,” said Sarojini Naidu, the nightingale of India.
Applications are invited for the appointment of Research Associate-III (one) and Project Technician-II (Lab Assistant) - (one) under a DBT sponsored project entitled “Development of diagnostic kits for simultaneous detection of viruses infecting patchouli and rose plants”
Essential Qualifications:
RA-III : Ph.D in relevant subject or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after
PT-II (LA) : BSc with 2 years experience or Intermediate with science subjects having 3 years experience or High School with five years experience in related field
Eligibility criteria as DST OM No SR/S9/Z-09/2012 dated 21.10. 2014
Emoluments:
RA-III 2 Rs. 40.000/- + 30% HRA p.m.
PT-II (LA) @ Rs. 17000/- p.m. consolidated
Duration:
Project duration will be for three years. However, initial appointment will be for one year. Further extension will be granted based on progress and accomplishment.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview
