Job Description
The Formulation Technologies Manager (FTM) functions as a product performance specialist providing technical leadership and support to the regional field force (RSM, BDM & ATM) for any oral solid dose core formulation (IR & MR). The position can be broadly described at the key technical liaison between the Field and Product Development.
Technical leadership falls within 6 key areas:
1) Technical consultancy to field on application and use of existing products
2) New product and application roll-out and feedback
3) Product performance and applications gap analyses
4) Consolidating voice-of-customer back to applications and product development
5) Technical promotions
6) Complex and/or critical customer project support
The FTM position typically is assigned to an RSM team, working with a defined Field group of BDM and ATMs. Additionally, the FTM will increasingly be assigned a niche, formulation growth area to master in depth, i.e. subject matter expertise, with which to further support and train the global field organization.
Candidate Profile:
Required Skills

Required PhD in a Pharmaceutical related discipline preferred. Ability to understand scientifically FT product application and performance.

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to prepare and present technical information

Extensive travel may be required (Up to 35%), inherent to customer project support and promotions

Project planning and/or excellent time and resource management skills/ prioritisation processes

Proven leadership and self-development skills required. Demonstrated ability to function within a matrix organizational structure

Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Required Experience
Previous oral solid dosage formulation experience within the pharmaceutical industry, academia or in pharmaceutical excipients preferred. Proven ability to lead discussions on technology selection in solid oral dosage form design
Demonstrable understanding of development pharmaceutics processes for oral solid dosage forms
