Applications are invited up to 31/01/2014 for one post of Scientist ‘D’ (Tumor Immunology) in the Pay Band PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.7600/- at the ICMR’s Institute of Cytology & Preventive Oncology, Noida.
Post: Scientist ‘D’ (Tumor Immunology)
Essential Qualifications:
(i) MBBS Degree recognized by MCI OR
1st class Master’s degree in Zoology/Biotechnology/ any life science subject with specialization in immunology from a recognized University OR
2nd Class M.Sc. with Ph.D. degree in any of the above mentioned subjects from a recognized University.
(ii) Eight years R&D experience in the area of Tumor Immunology/ Cancer Vaccinology or related areas in recognized institute(s) after obtaining essential qualification as evidenced by published work out of which at least 2 years in a managerial position to handle R&D projects in a team effectively in a directing capacity.
Desirable Qualifications:
(i) M.D/Ph.D. degree in relevant subject from a recognized university
(ii) Additional Postdoctoral research/teaching experience in related subjects in recognized institute(s)
(iii) Knowledge of Computer Applications.
Job Requirements: To carry out research & development work in the areas of Tumor Immunology/Cancer vaccinology
Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years. Relaxable up to 5 years for Government
servants and SC/ST/OBC candidates in accordance with the instructions issued by the Department of Personnel and Training from time to time in this regard. However, the prescribed age may be further relaxed in exceptional cases for experienced and qualified candidates.
One time age relaxation is also allowed to Scientific and Technical Staff working in long-term projects in ICMR Institutes/Centres for posts advertised under HRSC, 2007 provided they meet essential qualifications and experience for the post with a view to provide them opportunity to compete with other candidates as per Council’s letter No.6/1/2007- Admn.II dated 28.3.2011.
General Relaxation Clause: Age. Qualification and Experience are relaxable in deserving cases as per the Recruitment Rules of Health Research Scientists cadre of ICMR, under Rule 14 and Notes: 1 & 2 of Schedule-Ill.

(3) Benefits of new restructured defined contributory pension system are admissible as per the provision contained in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Economic Affairs (ECB & PR Division), Notification No.5/7/2003-ECB & PR dated 22/12/2003 effective from 1.1.2004.
(4) Private practice is not allowed. However, non-practicing allowance is admissible to medical graduates only as per rules.

2. Application forms duly completed in all respects and signed by the applicant should be sent to the Director, Institute of Cytology and Preventive Oncology, Plot No. 1-7, Sector, 39, Noida (U.P) 201301 on or before the closing date.

d. Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) for Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only) payable to the Director, ICPO, Noida. SC/ST, women and physically handicapped candidates (PH) are exempted from the application fee. IPOs are payable by all other candidates including ICMR employees.
4. Unsigned/incomplete application or application without supportive evidence asked for /without postal order application received late are liable to summarily rejected.
NOTE: 1. Ph.D/MD degree in subjects relevant to Indian Council of Medical Research shall be treated equivalent to three years experience. 2) Candidates with Ph.D/MD degree will be preferred for direct recruitment. 3) Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview/personal discussion, the applicants will be short-listed for this purpose. The decision of the Director General, ICMR will be final in this regard. 4) If no suitable candidate is found at Scientist ‘D’ level, the post can be filled up at one level below i.e. Scientist ‘C’ level. 5) Candidates called for interview will be paid a 1st class rail fare by the shortest route on production of documents. 6) Any canvassing by or on behalf of the candidates or to bring political or other outside influence with regard to selection/recruitment shall be disqualification 7) The post is with all India transfer liability under the Council.
