The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Hajipur is the first Institute of its kind in the State of Bihar (Estd: 2007). It is an autonomous institution of national importance, established under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt. of India under NIPER Act 1998. It is recognized as a center of excellence in biological therapeutics, and dedicated to offer masters and doctoral degrees through research and development in pharmaceutical sciences, and conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and other related areas.

Applications are invited from the eligible and suitable Indian Nationals for the following three posts on contractual basis as per the requirement for the sanctioned ICMR project “In vitro and in vivo evaluation of liposome encapsulated Mycobacteriophages D29 and TM4 as therapeutic candidates against Mycobacterium tuberculosis” Id. IIRPSG-2024-01-01066” (Principal Investigator: Dr P Ramalingam, NIPER Hajipur) and this project will under collaborated mode with ICMR-NIRT, Chennai.

Nature of Post : All three posts - Initial appointment will be for 1 year. The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Emoluments : Project Research Scientist – II (Non-Medical) – Rs. 67,000/-+10% HRA (Posted at ICMR-NIRT, Chennai) Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) - Rs. 56,000/-+10% HRA (Posted at NIPER-Hajipur) Project Technical Support-I - Rs. 18,000/- +10% HRA (Posted at ICMR-NIRT, Chennai) Note: For all post, increment of 5% of initial emolument after two year, if performance found satisfactory)
Age Limit : For Project Research Scientist I & II : 40 years on the date of application.
Project Technical Support-I : 28 years on the date of application (For with relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Central Govt. norms)
Minimum Qualification
Project Research Scientist – II (Non-Medical) – The candidate must have First class post graduate degrees, including integrated PG degrees in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biomedical Science, with three years’ experience or PhD in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biomedical Science (OR) Second class post graduate degree, including integrated PG degrees in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biomedical Science with PhD in Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biomedical Science and three years’ experience: Desirable experience: The candidate should have experience in experiments involving M. tuberculosis, mycobacteriophages isolation, production and characterization, cell line maintenance and M.tb in-vitro and in-vivo infection assays, and molecular biology techniques.
Project Research Scientist – I (Non-Medical) – The candidate must have First class post graduate degrees or second class post graduate with PhD degree in relevance to nano technology, nano-delivery, biological therapeutics, pharmaceutical sciences, Biotechnology, Desirable experience: PhD thesis submitted or having Research fellow experience or having previous experience in nano/liposomal formulation, stability and characterization.
Project Technical Support-I : The candidate must have 10th + Diploma (MLT/DMLT) + Two years’ experience or three year degree in life science with 01 year experience. Desirable experience: Experience in in-vitro microbiological assays and in-vivo animal experiments, preferably with knowledge of handling Mycobacterium tuberculosis culture and DST methods.
