Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, in 1916, through close cooperation with great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was established by the Parliamentary legislation-B.H.U. Act 1915.
Post : Project Research Scientist
Applications are invited for the position of Project Research Scientist - I (Non-Medical) (01 post) with emoluments of Rs. 56,000/- per month + 20% HRA in an ICMR-sponsored project entitled “Development of fatty acid synthesis inhibitors through Medohara formulations as a potential therapeutic strategy for resistant breast tumours”, sanctioned for three years. The post is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Essential Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Zoology, Bioinformatics, or allied areas with at least 55% marks from a recognized university. Additionally, candidates should have qualified NET/GATE.
Desirable Qualifications : Candidates with experience in relevant areas, particularly in metabolism and mammalian cell culture or Drosophila Genetics/handling, will be given preference.
Age Limit : The upper age limit is 35 years, with a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates. In cases where qualifications are equal, preference will be given to SC/ST candidates as per Government of India rules.
