The Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, popularly known as the acronym 'TANUVAS', blossomed on 20.09.1989 as the first Veterinary University of the country, through the Tamil Nadu State Government Act 42 of 1989. The seed for the establishment and growth of TANUVAS was sown as early as 1876, when the Madras Veterinary College was started as an Agricultural School in Chennai to offer diploma and certificate course in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. The institute attained the status of a college on 01.10.1903, when it started functioning at Dobbin Hall, Chennai and admitted 20 students for a three-year diploma course called GMVC (Graduate of Madras Veterinary College). It was the only veterinary college in the erstwhile composite Madras State till mid 1950’s.

CSIR- ASPIRE funded project on “Freeze-dried platelet rich plasma therapy as an alternative to antibiotic regime for subclinical endometritis in crossbred cows” A walk-in-interview will be conducted for the following post under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) funded project at Department of Clinics, Madras Veterinary College, Chennai - 600007.

Project Tenure : 3 Years
Essential Qualification : BS 4 years programme/BPharm/MBBS/BVSc/Integrated BS- MS/MSc/BE/BTech or equivalent degree, with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test is Mandatory
Desirable Qualification : • Experience in basic molecular techniques
• Prior experience in animal experimentation will be desirable
Age Limit : 28Yrs
Age relaxation : The upper age limit is relax-able up-to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to scheduled castes/tribes/OBC, women and physically handicapped candidates.
Fellowship : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)- Rs.37,000/-p.m. as per the CSIR guidelines (in force)
Job Description : • Carry out platelet rich plasma preparation and molecular research work designed by PI and Co-PIs pertaining to the above funded project.
• Keep and maintain the record of the results in presentable form (Soft as well as hard copy).
• Keep a track of contingencies/consumables required for the work and assist in the process of files for procurement of the consumables.
• Assist the PI in preparation of various reports related to the research work.

• Eligible candidates with full bio data are requested to walk-in to Department of Clinics, Madras Veterinary College, Vepery, Chennai-600 007 for a written test followed by interview for only short-listed candidates on 18.02.2025 at 10.00 am with original certificates in support of age, qualifications, photo ID card, experience certificate and proofs for any other credentials. The written exam would be for one-hour duration with multiple-choice questions.
• Working personnel are requested to attend the interview with No Objection letter from the present employer.
• No TA and DA will be provided for attending the interview.
• Mere appearance for the interview by candidate does not imply that the candidate is eligible for the post.
• Xerox copies of all certificates (attested) to be submitted. All the original certificates are required for verification.
