Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology, an Autonomous Institute under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, invites applications from well-qualified Indian nationals for contractual scientist position at the level of Project Scientist in the Life Science Division of IASST. The position is temporary, initially for 11 months, which may be extended based on availability of fund and performance and may be terminated with one-month notice without giving any reason.

Applications are invited for the temporary position (contractual) of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Govt. of India sponsored project entitled, “Cold Atmospheric Pressure Plasma for the treatment of chronic wounds – A Geroscience based approach” under the Principal Investigator Dr. Kamatchi Sankaranarayanan, Physical Sciences Division, Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology, Guwahati, Assam.

Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. in Physics / Chemistry with minimum 55% marks.
Age Limit : Upper age limit maximum 28 years at the time of application. Relaxation as per GoI rules.
Fellowship : Rs. 31000 + admissible HRA per month, for scholars who have qualified CSIR-UGC NET/GATE or equivalent. ii) Those who do not fall under (i), emolument will be as per the DST, Govt. of India guidelines
Desirable Qualification : Candidates with prior research experience will be given preference.
Duration : Appointment will be till completion of the project (Jan 2026) depending on the research progress and performance of the incumbent and status of the project or until further order, whichever is earlier.

Further, they must have to bring in person their original mark-sheets, certificates and other credentials if called for interview.

(2) Those in employment or doing Ph.D. should submit a 'No Objection Certificate' from the concerned employer/ Ph.D. supervisor.
(3) Appointment and payment will be strictly as per DST/ICMR rules and guideline.
