Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following project positions.
Post : Project Associate-II: Wet lab (01 position)
Projects Title : (DBT funded project) “National Wastewater Surveillance System for COVID-19”
Principal Investigator : Dr. P. Prasad, Scientist-E, ILS, Bhubaneswar
Remuneration : Rs. 35,000/- per month + @16% HRA
Job Specification : To carry out nucleic acid extraction from sewage samples, library preparation, and performing next- generation sequencing.
Eligibility & Selection : Candidates having Master’s degree in natural or agricultural sciences/ M.V.Sc. or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline) with 2 years of experience in research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to national-level entrance test (NET/GATE/GPAT/DST) qualified candidates. For non-NET/GATE candidates, the fellowship would be applicable as per DST guidelines.
Age Limit : The candidate should be below 35 years in age as on 22.02.2024. An age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India rules.

Incomplete applications and applications without the above-mentioned documents will be rejected. The appointment will be for one year or until the end of the project.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
