Post : Fellow/ Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) (01)
Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the position of fellow/ project research scientist-i (non-medical) under an ICMR-funded project entitled Affordable paper-based point-of-care device for rapid detection of glycocalyx markers for sepsis patients in the intensive care unit. the project is between NIPER, Hyderabad, and Employees State Insurance (ESI) Medical College and Super Specialty Hospital, Hyderabad.

Project duration : Three years
Salary : Rs. 56,000/- + 27% HRA of Rs.15,120/-; Total Rs. 71,120/- per month
Qualification : Essential: 1. First-class post-graduate degree (M.Sc./MS/Ph.D.) in Life Sciences/ Chemistry. An experience of 1 to 2 years and GATE/NET qualifications will be an added advantage. In exceptional cases, candidates with less experience can be considered. 2. First-class post-graduate degree (M.Tech.) in Biomedical Engineering/ Bioengineering/ Biotechnology/ Medical Devices. GATE/NET qualification with experience in the relevant area will be an added advantage.
Desirable :
1. Experience/ Knowledge in analytical chemistry, spectroscopy, especially electrochemistry.
2. Experience/ Knowledge in working with lateral flow/paper-based devices and ELISA.
3. Knowledge of imaging and image processing (using MATLAB or other software).
Age limit : 35 years
Job profile : Fellow/Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) will be involved in optimizing the paper- based microfluidic devices and lateral flow devices fabrication process. They will work extensively on designing, fabricating, and characterizing paper-based devices/lateral flow devices. They will be responsible for validating the device’s standardization, validation, and comparison of the ELISA method and paper-based assay, as well as working closely with the Employees State Insurance (ESI) Medical College and Super Speciality Hospital, Hyderabad, team to test real samples. They will need to travel frequently to the ESI hospital, Hyderabad, for work related to the project.
