Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the following project positions.
Post : Project Associate, Laboratory Technician
Projects Title : (DBT funded project) “Tribal health and nutrition”.
Principal Investigator : Dr. Debasis Dash, Director ILS Student will be working under
Co-PI : Dr. Punit Prasad Scientist-E, ILS, Bhubaneswar
Project Associate-II : (01 position)
Remuneration : Rs. 35,000/- per month + @16% HRA
Eligibility Criteria : Candidates having M.Sc. / M.Tech / M.Pharm. / M.V.Sc. or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences or allied subjects (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Computational Biology, Microbiology, etc.) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxation will be given as per GOI guideline) with 2 years of experience in research work are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to national-level entrance test (NET/GATE/GPAT) qualified candidates. For non-NET/GATE candidates, the fellowship would be applicable as per DST guidelines. Candidates with more than two years of research experience in applied biology, microbiology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates will have hands-on experience in next- generation sequencing (NGS), specifically 16S rRNA sequencing, as well as proficiency in molecular biology techniques, experimental microbial work, and the handling of clinical samples will be preferred.
Age Limit : The candidate should be below 35 years in age, as on 21st February 2024. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India rules.
Laboratory Technician (01 position)
Remuneration : Rs. 20,000/- per month + @16% HRA
Eligibility & Selection : B.Sc. in any branch of Life Science or 3 years diploma in Engineering and technology. Candidates having working experience in biological research laboratories will be preferred. The person should be proficient in using Microsoft word and excel. DMLT will be preferred.
Job Specification : Sample collection from different parts of Odisha, data entry, basic molecular biology work, ordering of lab reagents, etc. The candidate should be below 28 years in age, as on 21st February 2024. An age relaxation will be given as per GoI rules.
Selection will be carried out through application screening, followed by an interview process.
The interested/eligible candidates may download application form from our website www.ils.res.in and attend the interview with the complete application form along with attested copies of mark sheets and certificates, age proof, caste certificate (if any), along with the experience certificate. Incomplete applications and applications without the above-mentioned documents will be rejected. The appointment will be for one year or until the end of the project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director regarding the selection of candidates will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
