The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates to work as Project Research Scientist – I (Non-medical) under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) sponsored research project (IIRP-2023-1050) at Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (SPER), Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi.
Title of project : Targeting APOE-mediated pathways for clearance of β-amyloid and inhibiting the self-assembly of amyloid-β protein by Ganaxolone in mutated APP-transfected SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells and mice model

Tenure (in years and months) : 3 years (36 months) subject to satisfactory performance and release of grant by ICMR. Increment @5% on initial emoluments after completing two years, subject to performance review
Essential qualification(s) : 1. First class M.Pharm / M.S. (Pharm) in Pharmacology
2. Qualified GPAT/GATE/CSIR-UGC NET
Note : All educational qualifications must be from recognized board/ university.
Experience, if any : 1. Preferably, 1-2 years of research experience after M.Pharm
2. Ability to design and execute independent research studies
3. Experience in cell-culture or molecular pharmacology techniques or Alzheimer’s related model development using stereotaxic technique would be preferred.
Note : Experience shall be counted after the date of completion of minimum essential qualifications.
Age limit, if any : 35 years, as per ICMR rule.

Appointment in project will be purely on temporary basis. There is no guarantee of a job in Jamia Hamdard or admission to PhD programme in Jamia Hamdard on the basis of appointment in the project.
