The Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University) Varanasi owes its existence to Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of the first residential University of modern India, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), who could foresee the vital role of technical education in strengthening independent India. Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO).
Post : Project Research Scientist-I
Applications are invited (Format attached) from Indian nationals for the post of Project Research Scientist-I (Non- Medical) to work on ICMR sponsored project ( IIRP-2023-3014) entitled “Development and evaluation of Intra-nasal nanocarriers for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease” for a period of 3 years.
Essential qualifications : First class in M.Pharm / M.S.(Pharm.) / M.Tech (Pharm) / M.Tech in Pharmaceutics / Drug delivery / Nanotechnology / Biotechnology / Pharmacology with GATE/GPAT/CSIR-NET or equivalent examination. The candidates should have basic degree in pharmacy (B. Pharm). The candidates appearing in the final semester of M.Pharm / M.S. (Pharm.) are also eligible. Such candidates need to produce the essential documents justifying qualification in case of selection.
Duration : Initially for one year, extendable up to 3 years depends on the performance. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
Desirable qualifications : Candidates with expertise in nano-formulation development, cell culture¸ and cell biology related experiments will be preferred. In addition, the animal handling experience will be considered.
Salary : As per ICMR norms (Rs.56,000 + HRA 18%)
Age limit : 28 Years (relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped/Female candidates). All things being equal, SC / ST candidates will be preferred as per GOI rules.
