Project In-charge

Minimum educational Qualifications & Experience : Master’s Degree in Veterinary Science / Equivalent qualification with relevant specialization with first class or equivalent grade (6.5 on 10 point scale or 60% marks) and consistent academic record with minimum 5 years’ experience in experimental work using laboratory animal models and in lab animal breeding.

Preference : Candidates with experience in rodent surgeries, lab animal breeding and management especially of rodents and immune-compromised animals will be preferred.

Job requirement : The incumbent is expected to oversee experiments involving transgenic and knockout lines and also work along with the team of faculty in the various scientific research projects at the Institute. The incumbent is also expected to be involved in day-to-day function of the Animal House Facility.

Tenure of the appointment : Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Consolidated emoluments : Rs. 1,10,000/- per month

Minimum educational Qualifications & Experience : M.V.Sc. / M.Pharm / M.Sc. / equivalent qualification with relevant specialization minimum 3 years of experience in experimental work using small animal models and in lab animal breeding.

Preference : The incumbent is expected to oversee experiments involving transgenic and knockout lines and also work along with the team of faculty in the various scientific research projects at the Institute. The incumbent is also expected to be involved in day-to-day function of the Animal House Facility.

Tenure of the appointment : Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Consolidated emoluments : Rs. 54, 075/- per month

Job requirement : The incumbent is expected to assist in daily management of lab animals and / or zebra fish; management of records and other routine activities of the facility.

Tenure of the appointment : Initially for a period of one year, extendable for further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Consolidated emoluments : Rs. 33,900/- per month

Job requirement : The incumbent is expected to assist in Animal facility routine documentation (Report preparations, management of records, assets and other routine activities of the facility).

2. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment / absorption in Funding Agency or in IISER Pune.
3. The appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly applicable to the said project.
4. The qualification prescribed should have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions.
5. The prescribed educational qualifications and experience are the bare minimum and mere possession of same does not entitle candidates to be considered for interview. Where number of applications received in response to this advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to interview all the candidates. Based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee, the Project Investigator may restrict the number of candidates to be considered for the interview. Therefore, it will be in the interest of the candidates, to mention all the qualifications and experience in the relevant field at the time of applying.
6. Relaxation in requirement of qualification and/or experience may be considered in case of exceptionally meritorious applicants with the prior approval of the competent authority.
7. Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification and experience may be considered with the prior approval of the competent authority for candidates having qualification and experience higher than the advertised.
