Retired Armed Forces personnel till 2002 could avail medical facilities only for specific high cost surgery/treatment for a limited number of diseases covered under the Army Group Insurance(Medical Branch Scheme) (AGI(MBS)) and Armed Forces Group Insurance Scheme(Management Information System) (AFGIS (MIS)) schemes. These medicare schemes could provide some relief to the ESM, but it was not a comprehensive scheme as compared to and available for other Central Government Employees. Therefore, the requirement was felt of establishing a medicare system which could provide quality medicare to the retirees of the Armed Forces.

ECHS Cell Station Headquarters Patiala-147001 invites applications to engage the following staff on contractual basis for a period of 11/12 months for civilian/ESM respectively, renewable for additional period of 11/12 months based on satisfactory performance in the first year.

Basic Qualification :
(i) B.Pharmacy from recognized Institute OR
(ii) (10+2) with science stream from Recognized board
(iii) Approved Diploma in Pharmacy from Recongnized by the Pharmacy Council of India and Registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act 1948
Application from civilian candidates will also be accepted provisionally for vacancies reserved for ESM and interview will be conducted on provisional basis. Civilian candidates will only be considered for employment if NO ESM has applied/found fit for the post or civilian person already employed is unfit for grant of 1st extension. Duration for contractual employment in respect of ESM will be 12 months and civilian candidates selected against ESM vacancy will be 11 months.
