The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907. The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute.

Essential Qualifications :
Essential: M.Sc. in Agricultural Chemicals/ Organic Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Sciences or allied disciplines. The candidates with 3 years bachelor’s Degree must have NET qualification or equivalent (As per ICAR memorandum F. No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 13.07.2015 and F. No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 09.10.2015). Desirable: Experience in handling instruments like HPLC, LC-MS.
Emoluments : Rs. 25,000/- (Consolidated per month) + 30% HRA

Essential: Post Graduate degree in Entomology/ Nematology/ Zoology or allied disciplines. The candidates with 3 years bachelor’s Degree must have NET qualification or equivalent (As per ICAR memorandum F. No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 13.07.2015 and F. No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD Dated 09.10.2015).
Desirable: Experience in field experiments

The above position will be on purely temporary basis and is co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for a period of 6 months extendable thereafter upon satisfactory performance. The selected candidate shall not claim any regular appointment at this institute or at ICAR at the end of contract. The competent authority will have the right to decide the mode of appointment (i.e. adoption of any additional test of competence as required for the respective position) if required. The competent authority also reserves the right to terminate the appointment at any time without assigning any reason/notice.
The age of candidate should be minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years for JRF, age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/Women & 3 years for OBC, is applicable as per Govt. of India/ICAR Rules. Interested candidate must report within the designated time at the registration desk at the venue on the scheduled date along with original testimonials in support of their qualification/experience. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
