The Andaman & Nicobar Islands is a union territory of India. This territory is known as A & N Islands, or ANI. It is located in the Indian Ocean, in the southern reaches of the Bay of Bengal, nearer to Indonesia and Thailand. This comprises of two island groups - the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands - which separate the Andaman Sea to the east from the Indian Ocean. These two groups are separated by the 10° N parallel, the Andamans lying to the north of this latitude, and the Nicobars to the south. The capital of this territory is the Andamanese town of Port Blair.There are 572 islands in the territory, of which only some 38 are permanently inhabited. Most of the islands (about 550) are in the Andamans group, 26 of which are inhabited.

Academic Qualifications
Essential:
(i) Xllth Std (Senior School Certificate Examination) with Science subjects from a recognized Board/Institute.
(ii) Degree/ Diploma in Pharmacy of Ayurveda medicine from recognized University / Institute.
Desirable:
02 yr experience as a Pharmacist Ayurveda in a recognized Hospital.
Age Criteria: Not above 45 years

General Information
• The appointment will be made purely on merit basis.
• Interested candidates fulfilling the eligibility are requested to apply in prescribed format in A4 size paper.
• While applying for the post, the applicant should ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility and other norms and that the particulars furnis e y im/ her are correct in all respects and suppression of information would lead to disqualification at any stage.
• Interested candidates shall be ready to work in remote / hard areas as and when directed and also may have to travel to remote/hard areas as required.
• Incomplete/defective applications, applications without photograph of the candidates shall be summarily rejected.
• The engagement will be as per the guidelines of A&N State AYUSH Society on Contract basis for period of 11 months from the day you sign the contract within the stipulated period as per the offer of appointment letter. You are liable to serve anywhere in the Andaman 85 Nicobar Islands. Any extension or renewal of your appointment beyond this duration, if any, will be subject to a review on your performance and contribution in your work and an agreement on terms that must be mutually agreed upon. However this would not be construed in any manner a promise for the regular appointment under A&N State AYUSH Society /A&N Administration.
• No individual call letters will be issued for appearing in the interview.
• No TA/DA shall be payable for appearing in the interview.
