The Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani is an all-India Institute for higher education. The primary motive of BITS is to “train young men and women able and eager to create and put into action such ideas, methods, techniques and information”. The Institute is a dream come true of its founder late Mr G.D.Birla – an eminent industrialist, a participant in Indian freedom struggle and a close associate of the Father of Indian Nation late Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi).

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the following project sponsored by BRNS, under the supervision of Prof. Ramakrishna Vadrevu, Department of BIological Sciences, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad campus.

Title of the project: Sequence based design and characterization of peptide-amyloid nano material: Exploring functionality

Duration of the project: 3 years

Fellowship amount: 25,000 p.m (for NET Qualified)

Eligibility requirements :
A First class Degree in
(i) M.Sc Life Sciences or NanoScience or Biotechnology,
(ii) B.Tech Biotechnology
(iii) ME/M.Tech Biotechnology with First Division (60%) or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates should ideally posses lab skills/industrial (R&D) exposure, strong background in cloning, molecular biology, protein expression and purification. Handling FPLC/HPLC and other analytical instruments such as UV-Vis Fluorescence and Circular Dichroism spectrophotometers will be a plus. CSIR-UGC NET (including LS); GATE, Biotechnology Eligibility Test, JEST, JGEEBILS, NBHM Ph.D. scholarship screening test/ICMR JRF Entrance Examination/ICAR qualified candidates may be preferred.

Please note that only qualified and suitable candidates will be called for interview to be held at BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus in the 3rd week of March 2018) and no TA/DA will be paid for the interview. Selected candidate may be permitted to register for Ph.D programme of BITS, Pilani, subject to the fulfillment of the requirements.
