Applications are invited from the citizens of India for filling up the following temporary position for the sponsored project undertaken in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering of this Institute. The position is temporary initially for a period of 6 Months and tenable only for the duration of the project. The requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below:

Project : A mobile phone microscope with applications in point-of-care diagnostics and health education (Tata centre for technology development)" (IITB Donation Funds) About the project: This project involves validating a mobile phone microscope for screening of malaria and sickle cell disease patients.

Eligibility :
MBBS, BDS, or B.Tech. (biotechnology only). B.Pharm candidates can also apply (their designation will be Project
Assistant and the salary will be 18000-26000). We are looking for graduates
with clinical, pharmaceutical or biotechnology backgrounds. Candidates must
have with prior experience of handling patient samples. Experience of working in malaria or sickle cell disease biology will be considered advantageous.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Expertise in
statistical data analysis is strongly desirable.
Salary : Consolidated salary Rs.30000 - 42000 + Rs.4000.00/- Out Of Campus Allowance (if applicable) p.m.
The appointment is for time bound project and the candidate is required to work mainly for the successful completion of the project . The selection committee may offer lower or higher designation and lower or higher salary depending upon the experience and performance of the candidate in the interview.
