Post: Deputy Superintending Archaeological Chemist
Total : 06 (UR-4, OBC-1, ST-1)
Pay Scale: As per the 7th CPC Level 10 of the Pay Matrix. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. and H.R.A. at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56,100/- p.m. approximately)
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Educational- Master’s degree in Chemistry from a recognize university or equivalent. Note Equivalent qualification to Master’s degree in Chemistry is Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry or Inorganic Chemistry or Physical chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
B. Experience Three year’s experience in the analysis and application of alloys, silicates, insecticides, fumigants and plastics.
Notes-1 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Note-2 The qualification(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Tribe if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
Age
Not exceeding 35 years for General category Candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 38 for Other Backward Classes Candidates and 40 years for Schedule Tribe candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UT Govt. servants up to five years as per the instructions issued by the Govt. of India from time to time. DUTIES:
1. Planning, Execution and Supervision of Scientific Conservation and Preservation work of all types of Cultural Heritage under protection with ASI.
2. To carry out Scientific Studies and Research in this area for the development of appropriate Conservation methods using conventional and modern analytical tools.
3. Deputy Superintending Archaeological Chemist may be posted in one of the Zonal office of Science Branch of ASI having Administrative and Financial responsibilities.
4. Deputy Superintending Archaeological Chemist may also be assigned any responsibility by his controlling authorities.
HQ: Hqrs. is New Delhi liable to serve anywhere in India
Probation : One year
Other Details
The posts are permanent, General Central Service, Group ’A’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
Any Other Conditions
Candidates selected for the post will, during the period of probation, be required to undergo training as per requirements of the job prescribed by the Archaeological Survey of India.
