Post: Medicinal Chemist(Research Associate)

The C.I.M.R. Division of Translational Medicine, Alzheimer's Research UK Cambridge Drug Discovery Institute (DDI) is seeking talented medicinal chemists to join its growing team. 

The Cambridge DDI is part of a network of world-class Drug Discovery Institutes funded by Alzheimer's Research UK and will prosecute drug discovery projects from target to in vivo proof of concept and beyond for novel targets in the neurodegeneration therapeutic area. This is an exciting opportunity to join this new institute which is based on the prestigious Cambridge Biomedical Campus. 

Desired Candidate Profile:
The successful applicants will have either a PhD in a relevant field and preferably research experience within an academic or industrial medicinal chemistry group, or a degree in chemistry and considerable medicinal chemistry research experience. They will have a flair for problem solving and a track record of delivery on synthetic organic chemistry projects as well as an understanding of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. Moreover, they will have excellent communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team in order to drive forward collaborative projects. Experience with fragment-based drug discovery, biophysical techniques and/or laboratory management would also be advantageous. 

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 August 2020 in the first instance.
