National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
Eligible candidates are invited to apply for the following posts on the ad hoc research project entitled: “Pre-Clinical Toxicity Evaluation of Inactivated Chikungunya Vaccine"-funded by IIL.
Post: Project Assistant, Project Technician-III
The applications will be received from the individuals on 8th March, 2016 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. at Conference Hall, NIN, Tarnaka, Hyderabad. Late applications will not be entertained after 10:30 A.M. under any circumstances.The essential qualifications, experience, consolidated salary and service tenure etc. are as under:
Project Assistant
No. of Posts: 02 (1-OBC & 1-UR)
Qualification: Graduate in Life Science/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Pharmacy from a recognized university/ institute with two years experience. (OR)
Post Graduate in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
Desirable: Two years experience in Laboratory/ Animal experimentation.
Age: As per ICMR guidelines.
Cons. Pay: Rs.28,755-00 per month (fixed) without any allowances.
Tenure: Initially for 6 months and extendable as per the project requirement.
Project Technician-III
No. of Posts: 1 (ST)
Qualification: 10+2 and two years diploma in DMLT/ one year diploma in DMLT with one year experience. OR Three years Bachelor Degree in Life Sciences/ Pharmacy/ B.Sc- MLT from recognized university/ institute.
Desirable: Two years research experience in Laboratory experiments/ Animal House/ Pathology
Age: As per ICMR guidelines.
Cons. Pay: Rs. 17,040-00 per month (fixed) without any allowances.
Tenure: Initially for 6 months and extendable as per the project requirement.
Selection Procedure: Written Test/ Skill Test will be conducted to the eligible candidates found to be eligible in the screening of the applications after 10:30 A.M. on 8th March, 2016.

The shortlisted candidates should bring all original certificates of educational qualification (from SSC onwards), Original Degree/ Provisional Certificate is compulsory even to appear for Walk-in-Written Test/ Skill Test, experience, SC/ST/OBC Community Certificate/ PH Certificates along with a pass port size photograph and set of Photo copies duly attested for attending the Written Test/ Skill Test. The persons belonging to Other Backward Category should bring the latest O.B.C. (Non-creamy layer) Certificate issued by The respective Tahsildar/ MRO specifically issued for the purpose of applying for Central Government Post.
