Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an autonomous Institute of the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. THSTI is developed as a part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster to be located at Faridabad, in the National Capital Region. THSTI is designed to be a dynamic, interactive organization with a mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into tangible products to improve human health. Permanent laboratories of the centre will come up in Faridabad within one year. The interim laboratories of the centre are functioning from Gurgaon in Haryana.
Post: Vaccine Research Innovation (VRI) Awards
Applications are invited for the VRI awards from young scientists to work at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Research Centre (VIDRC) of the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI). THSTI had created VRI awards to nurture outstanding young scientists desirous of working in frontier areas of microbiology, virology, immunology, structural biology and protein chemistry under the mentorship of its senior faculty. An ideal candidate would hold a recent PhD in any of the above mentioned areas. Those who have submitted their thesis are also eligible to apply.
The award shall normally be for the duration of three years which may be extended by two more years, subject to satisfactory progress, based on a review by the committee of experts and their recommendation. The award carries a consolidated stipend of Rs.40,000/- per month. The awardee shall not be entitled to draw any other fellowship or salary.
For application, send your recent bio-data with copies of up to two key publications in SCI-citied journals to Head-Administration at the above address by 10th March 2014. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview for the final selection.
