BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an Institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. The institute is an integral part of the interdisciplinary NCR Biotech Science Cluster located at Faridabad, and is designed as a dynamic, interactive organization with the mission to conduct innovative translational research and to develop research collaborations across disciplines and professions to translate concepts into products to improve human health.

Senior Research Scientist - 01 post
Monthly consolidated emoluments : Rs. 1,25,000/-

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience and skills required : Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences / Medical Sciences, with three (3) years of post- qualification research experience in the area of Virology, particularly in the area of HIV.

• Proven leadership skills in providing quick training to lab personnel in the relevant area.

Job description : • Contribute to high level assessment of neutralization potential of engineered lead monoclonal antibody candidates against contemporary HIV-1 in a high-pace manner
• Hand-on training and establishment of competency assessment of junior staff.
• Preparation of SOPs and contribute to implementation of best practices around molecular and virological assays.

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience and skills required : MD or Ph.D. or corresponding degree in any area of Life Sciences/ Medical Sciences, with one (1) year of post-qualification research experience.
Job description : Establish proof of principle for microbiome - based interventions in- (i) Inflammatory bowel disease and (ii) Pre-term birth
Desirable work : The Candidate will work with the existing team in THSTI on the high throughput multi-omics data of (i) vaginal microbiome of Indian women with term and preterm birth outcomes and (ii) gut microbiome of patients suffering from chronic and acute infections.
Work experience : (i) Candidate should have competencies and work experience/knowledge in (a) Microbial genomics (b) Genome engineering and (c) Bio- therapeutics discovery (ii) The work experience should be supported by research article and research review publications as first author and corresponding author. (iii) Candidates must have knowledge for different animal models for therapeutics discovery.

Job description : Experience in conducting comprehensive omics data analysis using vendor-specific software and online platforms. Expertise in applying various statistical techniques for the analysis of omics data. Strong command of programming languages relevant for omics data analysis, particularly Python and R. Proficient in using libraries and frameworks such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Bioconductor, and ggplot2 for data manipulation, visualization, and statistical modeling. Knowledge in the development and management of omics databases using Python and R.

Essential & Desirable qualifications & Experience and skills required : Graduate in any discipline with two (2) years of post- qualification experience of working in a PSU/ Central Government/ State Government/ Autonomous Institute. OR Two years’ Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma in HR/ Finance/ Material Management or CA/ICWA or equivalent from a recognized University.

General Terms & Conditions
a) These are the short-term positions and extension will be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbents and tenure of the project for which they are selected. Those appointed to these positions will not have any claim for regularization of their employment.
b) All educational, professional and technical qualification should be from a recognized Board/University.
c) The experience requirement specified above shall be the experience acquired after obtaining the minimum educational qualifications specified for the post. The candidates are required to satisfy themselves, before applying /appearing for the selection process, that they possess the minimum eligibility criteria as laid down in the recruitment advertisement. No query will be entertained with regard to eligibility criteria.
d) The date of Interview of the respective post will be the CRUCIAL DATE for determining eligibility with regard to age, experience, essential qualification etc.
e) Age and other relaxations for direct recruits and departmental candidates: 1. By five years for candidates belonging to SC/ST communities. 2. By three years for candidates belonging to OBC communities. 3. For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) falling under the following categories : (i) UR - ten years, ii) OBC - 13 years (iii) SC/ST - 15 4. Age is relaxable for Central Government servants up to five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, from time-to-time. 5. Institute employees will get the age relaxation to the extent of the service rendered by them as on closing date of advertisement. 6. For Ex-servicemen upto the extent of service rendered in defence forces (Army, Navy & Air force) plus 3 years provided they have put in a minimum of 6 months attested service.
