National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Kolkata, is an Institute of National importance under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India. NIPER Kolkata has established Centre for Marine therapeutics (CMT), and is involved in development of new process for Marine Therapeutics, New Chemical Entity (NCE) from Marine sources.
Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Applications are invited from the Indian citizens for filling up the following post of Junior Research Fellow under purely time bound project sponsored by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in the Department of Medical Devices, NIPER Kolkata.
Project Title : “Fiber Reinforced Poly (l-lactic acid) for the Fabrication of Bioabsorbable, and Antibiotic Surgical Staples for Wound Closing”.

Description of the project : The project involves fabrication of degradable staples and them in-vitro and in vivo evaluation as per ISO.

Upper age limit (Yr) : 28 (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/ WOMEN/PWD as per GoI Rules)
Educational qualification and experience / skill : M.Tech / M.S (Pharm) / M.Pharm / M.Sc in Pharmacy / Medical Devices, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, Nanotechnology, Physics, Chemistry Biotechnology, or Equivalent with minimum 60% marks in degree.
• Candidates with experience in the synthesis of biomaterials, along with expertise in their mechanical and biological characterization, will be given priority.
Salary (Rs) : 37,000/- with admissible HRA
Terms and conditions
1. The above position is purely contractual for a tenure of 12 months and extended one more year based on the performance of the candidate or the termination of the project, whichever is earlier. The continuation of the fellowship is subjected to satisfactory performance.
2. Selected candidate will not be entitled to claim for regular appointment/absorption in the institute.
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
4. Applications reaching after specified time may not be entertained.
5. Valid GPAT/NET/GATE qualification is mandatory.
6. Candidates with prior experience of working in a funded project will be preferred.
