NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenesis, stem cell & its applications, reproductive biotechnology, infectious diseases, nanotechnology, bioinformatics and Nutrigenomics.
Post : Young Professional, Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the following position at National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB), Hyderabad.
Young Professional
Project Title : “LSDV Research Project” PI: Mr. Sarwar Azam.
Tenable upto : Six Months.
Essential Qualification : M.Sc (Bioinformatics/Computational Biology) with minimum three year of experience.
Desirable Experience :
• Strong knowledge of programming languages
• Strong hands-on experience with the Linux operating system, including shell scripting and pipeline automation
• Knowledge of database design and development
• Knowledge of NGS data processing and analysis
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Candidate with experience in viral genome assembly (LSDV) and end to end sequence characterization will be preferred
Fellowship amount : Rs. 50,000/- PM (Consolidated).
Age : 35 years.
Junior Research Fellow (1 Position)
Project Title : “LSDV Research Project” PI: Mr. Sarwar Azam.
Tenable upto : Six Months.
Essential Qualification : M. Sc (Bioinformatics/Computational Biology)
Desirable Experience :
• Strong knowledge of programming languages

Fellowship amount : Rs. 37,000/- + HRA (If applicable).
Age : 30 years
The walk-in interview will be conducted in a hybrid format on January 3, 2025. Candidates can either attend in person between 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM or participate online.
