The Indian Registry of Pathology (IRP) was established in 1965 under the auspices of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in New Delhi, India as a Centre for collection and distribution of teaching material in pathology. The Registry was renamed in 1980 as the National Institute of Pathology (IOP) in view of its expanded scope and activities. As per the need of the post-independence era when a large number of new medical colleges were coming up, IRP took up the initiative with the original aims and objectives of collection, classification, duplication and distribution of a representative spectrum of histopathological teaching material to several medical colleges, institutions, individual pathologists and clinicians.
The Institute intends to engage following project human resource positions for its ICMR funded research project entitled “A phase II. multicentre, randomized, two-arm blinded study to assess the efficacy and safety of two LXE408 regimens for treatment of patients with primary visceral leishmaniasis (VL)” PI Dr. Ruchi Singh, Scientist K, The posts are to be filled on purely temporary basis at ICMR-NIP for one-year, extendable up to two years or till the completion of project based on performance.

Job specification
• Lead and conduct research project ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and protocols.
• Design and optimize qPCR based, sequencing, or other molecular techniques for pathogen detection and strain typing.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports for scientific publications and regulatory submissions. Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, data, and results.
• Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure the reliability and accuracy of molecular assays.
• Oversee laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, reagent and supply procurement, and compliance with safety protocols.
• Train and mentor research associates and technicians in laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Explore and incorporate updated and innovative technologies and methodologies to improve experimental outcome.

Essential qualification and experience : Three years graduate in Life sciences + Three years experience OR Post graduation in any branch of Life Sciences.
Desirable : I. Experience of working in the molecular biology laboratory
Job specification : 1. Performing molecular biology related experiment under the supervision.
2. Support the research scientist in the project.
3. Preparation of various laboratory reagents and other items required for experiments.
4. Maintaining the record of clinical samples and laboratory.
5. Any other work directly related to the project.
Terms of Contractual Appointment
1. The contractual appointment will be made initially for one year and extendable till the completion of project based on performance.
2. Separate application forms should be submitted if a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post.
3. The recruited project staff are eligible for leave as per project rules and will have to give an undertaking at the time of joining.
4. The interviews for the advertised posts will be conducted in walk- in mode only. Candidates should report to the venue in time. No request for virtual mode interview via video conferencing will be entertained. Candidate selected against the post will be intimated via email.
5. The conditions for employment will be same as that of the ICMR project staff on contract basis.
6. Age, qualification, experience etc. will be reckoned as on the last date of submission of application form. Age relaxation will be applicable as per GOI rules.
7. Hostel accommodation of any kind is not available with the Institute.
8. Number of positions may vary. The selected candidates are also expected to/may be required to travel to Delhi or other centers for training.
9. These positions are meant for temporary projects and co-terminus with the project.
10. Engagement of the above advertised Project Human Resource Positions will depend upon availability of funds, functional requirements, and approval of the Competent Authority. Therefore, we are not committed to fill up all the advertised Project Human Resource Positions and the process in liable to be withdrawn/ cancelled/ modified at any time.
11. Qualification & Experience should be in relevant discipline/ field and from an Institution of repute. Experience should have been gained after acquiring minimum essential qualification.
12. Mere fulfilling the essential qualification does not guarantee the selection.
13. Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/ Organizations are not eligible to apply.
14. No TA/DA will be paid to attend the Interview/ Personal discussion and candidates must arrange transport/ accommodation themselves.
15. ICMR-NIP reserves rights to consider or reject any application/ candidature, without assigning any reason.
16. Submission of false or wrong information during the process of selection shall disqualify the candidature at any stage. *
17. The persons engaged on Project Human Resource Positions cannot be permitted to register for Ph.D., due to time constraints.
18. The persons engaged on Project Human Resource Positions will normally be posted at the study site; however, they can be posted to any other site in the interest of research work. They are liable to serve in any part of the country.
19. The persons engaged on Project Human Resource Positions shall not have any claim on a regular post ICMR or in any of its institutes/ Centers or in any Department of Government of India and their project term with breaks or without breaks in any of the multiple projects will not confer any right for further assignment or transfer to any other project or appointment/ absorption/ regularization of service in funding agency or in ICMR-NIP.
20. Benefits of Provident Fund, Pension Scheme, Leave Travel Concession, Medical claim, Staff Quarters, and other facilities applicable to regular staff of ICMR etc. are not admissible to the Project Human Resource Positions.
21. Successful candidates will normally be engaged on Project Human Resource Positions initially for a period of one year or less, depending upon the tenure of the project and functional requirements.
21. Continuation/ Extension to engagement of Project Human Resource Positions will be depending upon evaluation of performance, tenure of the project, availability of funds, functional requirements, and approval of competent authority .
23. The maximum term of any Project Human Resource Position in any or multiple projects, with breaks or without breaks shall be five years only.
24. ICMR-NIP reserves the right to terminate the Project Human Resource Position even during the agreed contract period or extended contract period without assigning any reason
