The origins of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) are rooted in the Indian Cancer Research Centre (ICRC), which was established in 1952 in Parel, Mumbai, under the purview of the Ministry of Health, Government of India. In 1966, ICRC was renamed the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) and amalgamated with the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), creating the first comprehensive cancer centre in India - the Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), an autonomous grant-in-aid institution of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India.

Project : “Identification of novel autophagy modulators from a natural compound library by using a unique autophagy reporter from live cell and preclinical mouse model”
Essential Qualification : MSc with minimum of 60% (or equivalent CGPA) in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Zoology or other relevant branches of biological sciences. Minimum 2-4 two years of research experience in cell and molecular biology techniques, reporter gene assay, immunofluorescence, western and drug efficacy measurement. Candidates with experience in real time molecular imaging of cells and small animal models are encouraged to apply and will be preferred
Consolidate Salary : Rs. 35,000/- per month
Upper Age Limit : 32 years. (Relaxable as per Government of India norms)
Duration : Six months and extendable. The work progress of the candidate will be monitored and extension after 6 months will depend on satisfactory progress of the work.
