Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Government of Punjab (GoP) with the financial support of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India (GoI) setup Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI) in 2005. PBTI is a component of Agri Food Biotechnology Cluster, Knowledge City, Sector 81, SAS Nagar (Mohali). PBTI, a registered Society under Societies Registration Act is professionally governed by Governing Council under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Punjab. PBTI started providing hi-end world class NABL accredited analytical services to Agri, Food, Environment and Allied Sectors from transit premises in Mohali. In addition, contract research services, technology validation services and Project Management Consultancy (PMC)/Project Management Advisory (PMA) services are also being provided. Farmers, entrepreneurs, startups, industries, exporters and regulators etc. are using these services.

PBTI is acting as knowledge partner for setting up and operationalizing Food, water and environment monitoring laboratories in public and private domain. PBTI's facilities have been technically strengthened and upgraded from time to time with the support from different ministries including Ministry of Commerce & Industries, GoI; Ministry of Food Processing Industries, GoI; Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, GoI and FSSAI, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI.
Pay Matrix (Level) : Level 31 Initial Pay Rs.1,48,800/-
Eligibility Criteria :
Essential : Ph.D. in Microbiology / Biotechnology / other allied Sciences (Bio- Engineering / Chemical Engineering) with minimum of 20 years experience in project development & implementation, business development and administrative affairs.
Desirable : 5 years experience in development of policy framework, linkages with national / international institutions/ organizations, technical consultancy in biotechnology sector.
Job Requirement : The incumbent would be responsible for day-to-day running of the Biotechnology Incubator including its marketing and self-sustainability.
Tenure : Five (05) years on contract basis
Age : Below 55 years
