Interview for B.Pharm, BSc under the sponsored projects at NBRI

CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) – is amongst one of the constituent research institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. Originally set up as the National Botanic Gardens (NBG) by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh (U.P.), it was taken over by the CSIR in 1953. CSIR- National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow is a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in important areas of plant sciences.

Eligible & interested candidates are invited for interview for the purely temporary positions in the following areas under the sponsored projects tenable at CSIR-NBRI

Area – I : Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry and Product Development
Field Assistant - 02 posts
Essential Qualification : Graduation in Science / Pharmacy
Desirable Qualification : Knowledge of field work on medicinal plants / raw drugs.
Job Specification : Field collection of medical plants, market survey and procurement of raw drugs from different markets of India.
Age : 50 years
Stipend : Rs. 20000/- p.m. (consolidated) (As per funding agency sanction)
Project Name : Identification of adulterants / substitutes for Ayurveda plant raw material in trade using pharmacognostic and phytochemical parameters (GAP- 3520).

Project Associate-II / SRF - 01 post
Essential Qualification : Bachelor's Degree in Ayurveda along with 2 years of R&D experience.
Desirable Qualification : MD Ayurveda with knowledge of Shodhana process.
Job Specification : Standardization of shodhana protocols and process.
Age :  35 years
Stipend : (i) 35,000/- p.m. + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. (ii) 28,000/-+HRA for others who do not fall under above (i)
Project Name : Mechanistic studies in elucidation of shodhana for nine poisonous medicinal plants of E1 schedule (GAP- 3521).

Project Assistant- 01 post
Essential Qualification : Graduation in Science
Desirable Qualification : M.Sc. in Botany with good knowledge of field work on medicinal plants
Job Specification : Field collection of medicinal plants, from different locations of India and Phytochemical analysis
Age :  50 years
Stipend : Rs. 20000/- p.m. + HRA
Project Name : Development of bioelectric sensor technology coupled with high- throughput metabolomics for quality control of Jatamansi : An economically important medicinal plant (GAP-3528).


Terms & Conditions
HRA will be admissible as per sanction of the projects.
a) The Application form will be provided at the venue on the date. However, candidates may download the application form in advance from the website nbri.res.in. At the time of interview candidates should bring one latest photograph, original documents along with self- attested copy of certificates of examinations passed (starting from matriculation), certificate indicating date of birth and experience certificate, etc. Tentative mark sheets/certificates and 'result awaited' will not be considered. All eligible candidates are requested to be present at the venue on the said date one hour before the scheduled time for necessary documents verification etc.
b) Mode of Selection: Through Interview. However, if large number of candidates turn up, a Screening test comprising of multiple choice objective questions may be held for short listing the candidates for interview. The short listed candidates will be interviewed by the Selection Committee and, based on the performance in the interview; a panel of recommended candidates will be formed. The panel shall be utilized as and when the requirement arises in the projects in the relevant field/area. Candidates have the option to interact in Hindi/English before the committee. In case of turning up of large no. of candidates, interview may continue for next day.
c) The appointment of the selected candidates in the CSIR/externally funded project will be co- terminus with the project subject to his/her satisfactory progress, receipt of the funds from CSIR and other extant rules/ conditions/instructions issued by CSIR/GoI/Other Authorities from time to time. However, the total tenure of the project staff in projects in CSIR should not exceed 05 years.
d) In case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA Grades etc., candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per their University/Institute.
e) In case of large number of candidates turn up for the interview, there is a possibility that interviews may continue till late in the evening or the next day also. Therefore, candidates are requested to make their travel plans accordingly.
f) Number of position(s) may vary at the time of selection.
g) Canvassing in any form and / or bringing any influence political or otherwise will be treated as disqualification for the post.
h) In case, it is detected at any point of time in future, even after engagement, that the candidate was not eligible, engagement of the candidate shall be liable to termination forthwith as per this clause.
i) To avoid any inconvenience, only those candidates who strictly fulfill the eligibility criteria and possess the degree/mark sheet in the aforesaid subjects should turn up for walk in interview.
j) While coming for Walk-in-interview, candidate(s) are advised to strictly adhere the CoVID-19 guidelines.
