The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) is an autonomous institution of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, for a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Savitribai Phule Pune Campus, Pune.

NCCS invites applications for following posts on various extramural projects purely on temporary basis.

Regulatory Compliance Consultant
Name of the Project : Establishment of GMP-compliant National Repository for banking, safe deposit and supply of characterized mammalian cells for use in biopharma.
Name of the PI : Dr. Punam Nagvenkar
Essential Qualification & Experience : Graduate / Post-graduate in Biology, Engineering preferably. Having at least 8-20 years of experience in the field of design engineering, cGMP, quality management systems and regulatory affairs in Biotechnology field in line with national and international norms as evidenced by work experience certificates. Must have previous experience of working in Engineering consultancy company and managing projects from engineering aspects. Must have project management experience. Have experience to review RFP, RFQ, RFIs and engineering contracts. Two strong letters of recommendation from senior industrialists is required.
Desirable Qualification & Experience: MBA would be preferred. Work experience in projects for biosimilar facility and labs in biopharma/biotech industry and reputed engineering consultancy firms. Must have thorough knowledge on ICH, USFpA, EU guidelines essential for setting up and qualification of facility. Should have sound Knowledge of industrial safety and compliances.
Job Profile : The incumbent will track and report on all assigned activities including facility designing for tender preparation, assessing technical suitability of vendors, validation, and qualification of facility. Will participate in cGMP regulatory compliance & quality management activities including advising, monitoring and correcting GMP functional area. Will facilitate in obtaining approval for -cGMP certification and other regulatory compliance from national and international regulatory bodies in addition to other statutory compliances required to start the project at the site. Will provide support for smooth project execution of cGMP-compliant facility without time and cost overrun. Timely execution of the work would be required. Must be willing to travel. Will be accountable for complete documentation of the facility right from concept to facility qualification. Overall Project management and project site management for prompt execution.
Project Tenure : 6 months, extendable to maximum of 2 years based on satisfactory performance.
Total Monthly Emoluments : Upto 90,000 per month [Negotiable as per individual's experience.

Consultant
Name of the Project : COVID Research
Name of the PI : Janesh Kumar
Essential Qualification & Experience : a] Professionals having Master's Degree in relevant subject or technical qualifications like B.Tech, MBA or equivalent in relevant field/subject. Persons with M.Phil. or additional qualifications, research experience, published papers and post qualification experience in the relevant field would be preferred. b] Retired Government employees with I. Grade pay of Rs. 5400 and above II. At least 7 years' experience in the required domain field would also be eligible for this position
Desirable Qualification & Experience: Experience with electrophysiology, whole-cell patch clamp, molecular biology, protein expression and purification are desirable
Project Tenure : 03 months, extendable to another 3 months based on the progress and assessment of the work done.

Name of the Project : Establishment of Centre of Excellence for "National Centre for Microbial Resource (NCMR]"

Essential Qualification & Experience : M.Sc with 2 years relevant experience in R & D organizations. Candidate should have minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in qualifying examination.
Desirable Qualification & Experience: One or more of the following
1) Experience with DNA sequencing of Microbial Cultures.
2) Prior experience in sequencing facility and familiarity with SOPs involved in sequencing facility.
3) Prior experience of handling automated DNA Sequencer.
Project Tenure : Up to 31st March, 2021.
Total Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 53000/- with 5% increase per annum subject to project extension

Desirable Qualification & Experience: Experience in Virology and animal cell culture. Previous experience in biochemical characterization of protein-protein interactions will be preferred.

The position will automatically co-terminus on the completion of the project tenure. The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment/absorption in funding agency or in NCCS, Pune.

14) Fellowship/Emoluments: Emoluments to the research personnel engaged under project will be made in accordance with the sanction order or latest DST O.M whichever the case may be.
15) Age limit will be considered as on closing date of receipt of application. Age relaxation of 5 years in case of Women/SC/ST/PH candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be given as per Government of India rules. Reservation as per Govt, of India norms will be followed.
16) Age & Experience will be relaxed in exceptional cases by the Competent Authority.
17) Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence will be treated as disqualification for the post.
